I understand, and it's frustrating for me too. But it's not being done to keep secrets. It's being done so folks will react based on complete information. If we all went back to our forums and started trickling things out based on our own perceptions, people could be getting information that isn't entirely accurate. For something this big, they want to get feedback based on accurate information.
The Devs are working on getting official docs written and approved. Give it a couple weeks, and we can dig into providing feedback together.

As you most likely guessed, when I was "out of town" I was in fact in Austin, TX at the Summit. They didn't want any party crashers.
Holy cow. You know how everything we ever ask is answered with "Combat Balance?" Well, it's true. Big changes, and lots of them. Developers and correspondents alike are very excited, but nervous because of the scope of the changes. We went through the documents point by point and discussed them. We held a Q&A on each section, and it's all on tape so they can review our comments in detail (in addition to further discussion on the boards, where we will be equipped with feedback from you guys).
I definitely got the impression that this wasn't simply for educating the correspondents about the Combat Revamp. They had to run it by us in person and see our reactions. As it turns out, it was pretty much all positive. Why wouldn't it? It came from the discussions found every day on the boards! We had a couple of objections of course, and we're going to work through them. It was clear that they wanted to find solutions. They really pressed us for honesty, and didn't want us to simply sit there and kiss ass at all.
"Sounds great. Spill the beans, mister."
At this time, I cannot. he reason is a very good one: if we released partial information when you haven't seen the complete documents for yourselves, you would have more questions than answers. We don't want any aspects blown out of proportion prematurely. That comes later. "So release everything!" you say. Well, that's the plan. The docs are being worked on and will start to be trickled out a week from Monday (Sept 6th). If "trickled out" sounds completely contradictory to what I just said, it is. It is still better for you to read the docs (which are broken up by category) one by one however, rather than get a smattering of bullet points from all over the place.
Got any dirt?
Well, a little. JEST3R called StGabriel a "**edit**ing idiot," and Vandessa said she "likes it rough" (taken out of context). JEST3R also put on a pair of hawtpants, thankfully over his jeans. We all drank substantial amounts of booze. To take something else out of context for fun and enjoyment, Thunderheart said he "didn't want to put a piece of nasty ass in his mouth."
To summarize, the plan is exciting. However, we have a lot of work to do in the coming weeks and months. It is a very big deal. It isn't perfect and it isn't going to be perfect for everybody when it gets released. Many people will find themselves changing professions, but they will have more fun once they do so. We are working diligently to make sure people have roles that they find close to what they asked for, but some people will have to be a little flexible to make everything fit. In some cases, they will find that another profession they haven't tried before is more attractive to them.
There is going to be a lot of hard work, but I feel that this is a tremendous step in the right direction for Star Wars Galaxies. Of course, I'm counting on you to make up your minds for yourselves.

So worries Vex I still support you but those damn devs and their NDA is driving me nuts. Makes me wonder why they made you sign it?
