Thread: This is why CH XP is so damn slow
This profession is a grind pure and simple. If you want master you stuck with using all your weakest pets to try and scrape some xp together. This makes no sence to me as it now dosnt matter what your max level of pet is your never going to use it so going up the tree (unlike other professions) dosnt make things any easier. My current max lvl of pets is 45, do i use a good lvl45 pet HELL NO, i use the same dam lvl 20 pet ive being using for as long as i can remember, what that i hear you say "you can call 2 pets", great idea lets LOWER the amount of xp gained and heaven help you if one of them drops. SO, you can get into a big group, call your most useless pet, wait for everone else to attack and send your pet in for 2 seconds to you think hes done some damage and pull him right out again so he dont get incapped (and waste alot of pet stims) OR you can go track down babies teach them "p" (its nice and close to enter) for every command you know and let it go again. WHERE's the reward? WHERES the sence of satisfaction you get with EVERY other profession when you get a new skill?
If your a pistoleer and you get a level up you get something usefull like a new special or mods to your accuracy which helps you get xp.
If your an artisan and you get a level up you get something new to build which helps you get xp.
If your a CH going for master you get a higher max level of pet which DOSNT help you get xp or a new command to teach which only helps you get xp if your grinding taming n training.
Sorry this has been really annoying me for a while and have took this chance to rant.
Well, it works like this. CH is a lot of fun. So, the developers are trying to implement a system where you get the maximum fun out of each stage of development. Their view is the longer you spend in each stage of advancement, the more fun you have.
This is why CH XP is so damn slow.
Your xp is based on what kind of pet you set against what kind of opponent. If you send a mauler against a rancor or mauler, your not gonna gain as much ch xp, than if you sent a squall or sludge panther. Basically I run rings around towns like Dearic with my cl 10 carrion spat, and kill everything about 1200 m from town. I can make a decent 20 to 25k an hour that way.
You thought CH xp was bad, wait until you try combat xp.
I've been a CH since August. I should have just mastered it back then and had it done with. The XP gains used to be sweet. Now it's like pulling teeth.
I'm really starting to hate this game...
