This profession is a grind pure and simple. If you want master you stuck with using all your weakest pets to try and scrape some xp together. This makes no sence to me as it now dosnt matter what your max level of pet is your never going to use it so going up the tree (unlike other professions) dosnt make things any easier. My current max lvl of pets is 45, do i use a good lvl45 pet HELL NO, i use the same dam lvl 20 pet ive being using for as long as i can remember, what that i hear you say "you can call 2 pets", great idea lets LOWER the amount of xp gained and heaven help you if one of them drops. SO, you can get into a big group, call your most useless pet, wait for everone else to attack and send your pet in for 2 seconds to you think hes done some damage and pull him right out again so he dont get incapped (and waste alot of pet stims) OR you can go track down babies teach them "p" (its nice and close to enter) for every command you know and let it go again. WHERE's the reward? WHERES the sence of satisfaction you get with EVERY other profession when you get a new skill?

If your a pistoleer and you get a level up you get something usefull like a new special or mods to your accuracy which helps you get xp.

If your an artisan and you get a level up you get something new to build which helps you get xp.

If your a CH going for master you get a higher max level of pet which DOSNT help you get xp or a new command to teach which only helps you get xp if your grinding taming n training.

Sorry this has been really annoying me for a while and have took this chance to rant.

combat xp is easy as he!!...

CH xp sucks, it used to be good but now it sucks. I can use in game macros to stand outside town and send kreetles or rock beetles against things and get xp than I can hunting Huurtons and Quenkers. I just went and found one spot on Dant where I hunted both for about an hour, got 9k xp with 2 rock beetles against them (that is lvl 13 vs. lvl 21+) I can macro 12-20k and hour afk. They need to rethink the game mechanics. It was better when you got equal xp for both pets (and I have been a CH since week 3 in the game, so I have an opinion)...

I have to disagree, On the pure fact that, I had tried CH about 4 months ago, and gave it up at 14k experaince on the basis of being to slow. I picked it up again because I am doingBH and some of the bountys are just Hard. In the last 2 days I have gotten Creature Managment IV. I have spent about 5 hours total on Dath doing enraged Rancor groups over that 2 days. I was using a Level 10 Dewback with a 3k ham that does I "Think" 70-75 damage, had him made just for doing tanking on lower level creatures like the Squill cave. I was getting 1050exp for each rancor. Maybe you just weren't killing that much on Dath>?

Well, it works like this. CH is a lot of fun. So, the developers are trying to implement a system where you get the maximum fun out of each stage of development. Their view is the longer you spend in each stage of advancement, the more fun you have.

This is why CH XP is so damn slow.

Last night I was bug hunting on Dathomir with a couple of friends. We were there two hours, hunting spiders and mites. We also took out a handful of rancors, a couple of nightsister slaves, and some kamuriths that got a bit too nosy for their own good.

During the two hours we were there, my friend acquired 39K of trapping XP to my measly 9K of CH XP.

What the F?

In looking at my remaining CH XP requirements, each Level4 box requires 140K of XP. I also have Empathy II and II to finished, for another 130K. That's 690K of CH XP remaining to reach master. At 9K for two hours of work, I'm looking at another 150 hours of solid hunting to reach master.

Are the Devs trying to kill the CH profession?

I've already concluded it's faster for me to sit outside Tyrena, taking DNA samples from yard trash, and clone myself an army of gnorts to tame and train. At 1300 XP a pop, it's gotta be more efficient than hunting. The current XP gains and requirements for CH are just absurd.

I didn't do this but from what I've heard you should get a group and head to rancor alley. Set up camp and hunt with a low level pet, don't run around just hunt in that one spot.

Your xp is based on what kind of pet you set against what kind of opponent. If you send a mauler against a rancor or mauler, your not gonna gain as much ch xp, than if you sent a squall or sludge panther. Basically I run rings around towns like Dearic with my cl 10 carrion spat, and kill everything about 1200 m from town. I can make a decent 20 to 25k an hour that way.

You thought CH xp was bad, wait until you try combat xp.

i agree. yesterday, i was getting 1 CH xp for every creature i killed, even when i used a low lvl pet on easy stuff, and een when i killed rancors and such. 1 CH XP PER KILL! i missed out on thousands that i should have gotten...

I've been a CH since August. I should have just mastered it back then and had it done with. The XP gains used to be sweet. Now it's like pulling teeth.

I'm really starting to hate this game...

ch xp is a matter of how you get it. I went 2 months and got 2/2/1/3. I just said Enough and grinded in the force caaves in 6 days i got 4/4/4/4. though the force caves being nerfed and all (MUCH harder stuff) u need tougher pet to begin with.
