Thread: Tough Choices, or lack thereof

After talking to various CHs of various skill Ive come to ask the community (again) if they think that allowing/doing the following would be a fair add on to SWG...

#1. Add more mounts to the game if at all possible (any animal of a verious size) such as the rare pugoriss, the near pitifull eopie, movie mounts such as Banthas and Rontos and many others that might meet body size and shape variables. This is just a thought but I think a highly useful one to allow a wider range of mounts that can be found on all planets.

#2. Allowing tamed pets to be dropped off in ones home with out the worry of losing the creature and thus freeing up the dada pad and also allowing tamed animals to be put on the bazaar and vendors Via a deed reversal process or something along that line to prevent endless hords of huge beasts (all tamed animals will be reverted into deedsthat are babiessuch as those processed by bio engineers) . This would allow Creature Handlers (as well and those that arnt) to put old animals aside without destroying or selling them off. I personnaly think this would make Bio Engineers more money due to the fact that "collections" can be had from an outdated beast. Non CHs, and CHs alike may find this appealing due to statement #1.

I personally would like anyone that likes or favors these seemingly heavily supported ideas to please add their name and word into this Thread. Thanks- Sito

I would love to be able to drop pets in my house and keep them off my data pad. But it wont happen. The devs want us to have to make tough choices.

Also, I wasn't aware that anyone used mounts anymore. Why? The only reason to have one would be in case your speederbike gets blown up by a stoneskin.

#1 Until Mounts get a speed and endurance improvement there are no need for more types of mounts. Hardly anyone rides mounts anymore since vehicles are SO much faster. Flying mounts you just AREN'T going to get. I think that would be very hard for the design artists to make and too many non-CH people would cry about it.

#2 I like the idea of storing pets in your house but I believe this will cause more bugs in a game that already has WAY to many bugs. 50% of every combat profession in this game is bugged. The CORE of this game should be fixed before all this fluff is added. I would much rather have every special shot in every combat tree work before I get new mountable creatures and the ability to house store my pet.

I agree that mounts don't get the work they did at first, but I still use my mount all the time, and my PA uses mounts a lot to move between missions out in the field.

On your second point, you can forget about it. The developers' best effort is going into the space expansion, and the game as it's being played live is a distant second for attention. This thing will be bugged until the last of us have logged off, and some of the bugs will be ones that were identified in beta, and still not attended to.

Unless I need to get somewhere fast, I usually use a mount. Vehicles go too fast to give spawns a chance to spawn. Plus vehicles don't follow you like a mount does when the mob you're trying to sample/milk wanders away from where you dismounted. I just turn around and remount, instead of trying to remember which hill I might have parked behind. That, and I'm still leary of disappearing vehicles. Plus I just enjoy the leisurely paceof my Brack, having my cats loping along beside. I'm not in a hurry.

All I really want for mounts is more variety (Wanna be able to ride a kitty mount!) and for galloping to be able to be left on without tiring the mount. As far as I'm concerned, allowing my mount to gallop at all times without tiring may not seem "realistic" but then, how realisitic is producing the thing (or a speeder) from my back pocket anyway? While galloping mounts are still slower than speeders and bikes, it would be much better than walking, and I would use my mount a LOT more than I do now. The tiring-out thing just frustrates me into using a vehicle because I can run faster than my tired mount can go.

*shrug* Just my opinion. I could care less about fighting from my mount or using special attacks or all these other combat-related things I've seen people wanting in other threads. The reason I looked forward to mounts was because I was tired of running all over creation (and let's face it, running 20-30K meters a game session, which is what I always did, isn't very "realistic" either), but with the fatigue factor and the long recovery time, I'll just use my speeder, thanks.

You got that right. They want CH's to either quit, drop the profession, or put up with their BS. Yep, tough choices. lol
