Thread: The whipping boy of SWG
Ever read the bible? Job, the guy that God decided to punish for no reason for his entire life? Think of Creature Handler as the Job of Star Wars Galaxies. If something is going to go wrong it's probably going to go wrong with CH. I'm not accusing the Devs of intentionally putting bugs in...oh wait, yes I am. Pets worked fine before publish 6, and now they don't. Seems to me they added a nice little range borkingthat made the pets go all wonky, standing on their owners and running all over the countryside in combat looking for that "perfect range".
Top five reasons why CH is un-playable:
5.) /tellpet command breaks randomly...a huge source of frustration if all your hot key commands start with /tellpet
4.) In PvP pets take full damage, but only do fractional damage.
3.) Camps are still required to call pets to prevent griefing...how the hell are you going to grief by not using a camp!?!?!?!
2.) Autostore, for seemingly no reason pets will store themselves, often in the middle of combat...so do you take missions without your pets because they're probably not going to stick around for the whole battle?
1.) The brand new range bug the Devs installed where your pets will stand directly on top of you unless told otherwise (FYI the formations commands and stay commands have timers now, so pets will go back to standing on top of you if you turn your back on them) and because pets will now seek an ideal range in combat, they run all over the place trying to keep a certain distance from the mob.
I have asked in every way possible to find out when, if ever, these bugs are going to be fixed. For 3 & 4 I was informed that these were intentional additions to the game to make CH suck (okay I added the last part). The other three I was told (direct quote) "I'm sorry you're having insert name of bug here with your pets. This is a known bug in the game for which there is no CS fix at the moment. There is no information yet on how soon this bug will be fixed. Please check in-live now in the future for possible fixes in the future."
As a retaliation I have decided to turn our problems back on the populace that cried nerf to cause them and I invite everyone to join me...it's kinda fun too. Band together MCH's and let's get the rest of the populace to join with us in calling for the Devs to fix what they broke...we're going on strike!
- Everytime a non-CH asks you to train or tame for them a pet inform them you are on strike until the bugs in your profession are fixed. Tell them to pester the devs with e-mails, CS threads, and bug reports about the range bug, the autostore bug, and camps.
- Bring out your largest most lag causing pets and place them all over the city on parade. Name them interesting names like "No-more-bugs!" and "We-re-on-strike". If necessary purchase crappy BE rancor rejects so you can have two rancors on parade with these names.
- Place very tempting pets for sale on display and inform people requesting to buy them that you cannot sell them until your strike is over.
You will get endless /tells and requests to end the strike...inform the people that the only people that can end the strike are the good people at SOE. CH is one of the most popular professions in the game. With those numbers comes a lot of power if we join together and refuse to do our jobs. Let's get the entire community so fed up with the strike that they're calling for the fix of CH instead of the nerf.

that is the worst idea ever. that will just accomplish 3 things:
1) non-CH hate us even more
2) they take away our big creatures
3) they don't fix our profession out of spite
what they flying heck? you know a strike only works when the strikers are needed by the people in power. it's not like the game won't go on because we strike. they'll just add quickfixes to prevent your anoying activity and be on their merry way. again, making the devs hate us is not the way to solve the problem!
