Thread: Diffenrent pet concept would you buy?
Low HAM and low resists a Rifleman could take out easily with one or two Strafeshot2s. That would be its Achilles Heel.
I appreciate your line of thinking, though. So let me give you some feedback, if you don't mind me doing so.
It's hard finding even a bio-pet these days that even has resistance to BLAST. I don't knowwhether the BEs on my server are incapable of doing it, or are keeping the pets for themselves (or their close friends), but every single high level bio-pet I have is vulnerable to blast (and they were all made by different people). This is just on my server, mind you.
But alas, we are all vainly in search of the 'uber pet'. As a Rifleman/MCH who sees PvP from both sides of the spectrum, right now all the CH has is the pets that are disposable. You use them until their vitality slips so far that their HAM begins to lower, then release them and get another. Rancors, for example. You go to Dath and get the 18K Rancor missions, and you can tame more.
I recently saw a bio-blurrg in the Geo labs that belonged to someone else that had incredible resists (similar to the resists of the Frenzied Graul). This blurrg held its own against several alert droidekas and enhanced kwis with a few stim D's every so often. I asked the guy where he got it so I could offer the guy my business (I WILL pay a BE more than the quoted price for a good pet), but the BE had apparently gone out of business for his holo (d'oh).
I know that NO bio-pet is going to be 'uber'. Only the rare tamables like the Frenzied Graul will come close, and most of us are too scared to use one of those in a PvP situation. If I were given a choice, I would sacrifice attack min-max damage any dayin favor ofa strong HAM, good resists and attack speed. By good resists I mean 40% or better, particularly Kinetic, Blast and Heat.
This is the pet I use exclusively for pvp that was bio made
It is an angler made from very high quality aracne queen dna. It has the exact same resists as the aracne queen and hits with 530-540 dmg. It is lvl 67 and due to its size I prefer it over the lvl 66 and lvl 68 kimos.
Milteck the Beastmaster
Radient
If not, I vote for the gleaming lantern bird.
Good idea but i had an idea of my own..... I think that CH's should be given a Creature that can fly and be mounted so we can safly navigate hte skys and they would be faster than land animals. it would be a perk cause it would bring intrest back into buying mounts from CH's.

I second on sacrificing High HAM and High Damage for rather Higher Resists and some good specials like Stunning Strike or Knockdown, although I've heard that neither of these specials work too well, if at all, in PvP.
I have a CL32 Gurreck with about a 9k HAM and 300+ Damage, but with 60% Kinetic and 45-55 Resists Across the Board and has served me far better than my CL69 Blurrg with 13k HAM and 650 Damage with only 25% Kinetic andevenlower resists across the board both in PvP and PvE.
As stated many times before, CH is primarily a Combat Support Profession, not aCombat Profession. A master in any combat profession with a good, durable tank can be formidable in almost any situation.
I guess that's Diffenrent(sic)?
