Thread: Rancor Trouble
I bought a BE Rancor back in October-November, way before i could do anything with it (it was a nice house ornament, I will say that.), anyway about a month ago i was finally able to tame it, and about a week or two ago I mastered CH,(why oh why did I not go to Dothmir sooner), I am not sure but don't want to get ban or anything, but should he be a level one? should I be able to pull to Mt. Squills and a Rancor that has a 12k HAM and does 643-655 DMG? The more I think about it, I think that it's not supposed to be this way, especially since if I pull the Rancor out first it won't let me pull the others... let me know, is there a way to fix w/o having him nerfed or taken away? Let me know what you think, and no I am not selling him to you.
P.S. Looking for tips on how to mount properly it seems my pets are suffering brain damadge from my current technique and as I move up the BE tree I would hate for this to continue. (Don't want to make a lvl 65 dewback that is only useful for special Olympics for the standing there event.)
What you have there is a pre-BE upgrade Rancor. All BE'd pets made prior to pubish 5 (I think it was) and tamed after publish 5 have this bug. Despite repeated attempts to fix this, it persists.
As with anything to do with Bio-engineering we have yet to have any definitive direction as to what is and is not a valid pet (all the pet checks seem to operate on a random basis!).
In the case of your Rancor, it's stats are valid, but it's level isn't.
No fix exists for this.
I'd suggest you would be OK using him provided you don't pull out anything over level 20 with him (for a total of 70 CL). I know I can pull out 150 levels of pets using this - but if I did I'd expect to get banned since it's an obvious exploit!
It's a pain doing this manually - but the alternative is to hand him in for nerfing (and creatures get nerfed hard when traded in - the result would be useless to anyone).
BAN ME!!!!!!!!!!
I love swg if i ever got banned for using exploits i would be bored as hell

Ahh - a new player
(from your registration date)
Dreadful as it is to say - some pleople cheat at online games (exploit).
Somewhere in amoungst that long piece of blurb that comes up on your screen (where you click the "I Agree" button), you agree not to use game bugs to gain an advantage within the game.
There's a well(ish) known bug with some pets which allows you to have several of the most powerful creatures in play at once (well over what you are supposed to have).
Banning someone is SOE's ultimate sanction if you are caught cheating/exploiting - your account is suspended and you cannot log on to any SOE games either permamently ("perma-ban") or temporarily (typically a week or 10 days) - depending on the severity of the offence.
It's worth pointing out that a ban in one gameapplies to all SOE games (Everquest, Planetside, etc) - and is also applied (I believe) against your credit card number, address, IP address, etc. etc.
In theory there is no way you can get banned by accident and all you need to be wary of are obvious cheats and scams - if someone tells you a way of duplicating an item in-game, for instance, you are well advised not to use it and report the exploit to SOE ("duping" is a sure-fire way of getting perma-banned).
Hope that answers the question. Some stuff doesn't appear on the FAQs and people should still know about them
it is a lvl 1(0) just like that?
