Thread: It's funny...

I keep realizing, over and over, how useless the CH profession is in comparison to most others. So I tell myself "I'm going to drop CH and go for one of the Hybrid professions and actually be able to hold my own against a stormtrooper."

Then I log in, and- Suprise! I realize that I simply can't give up my MCH title. It's just got too much sweat and tears invested in it.

I did this profession the long and hard way - no grinding, no powerleveling, just doing my thing and taking xp as it came. Now, however, I've reached the pinnacle of CHness, and been badly disillusioned.

So, while my best pets drop in under 30 seconds in PvP, I still cannot imagine being without them at (or running away from) my side in PvE.

All in all, I have a definte love/hate relationship with the profession. The hate comes from it being a waste of SP and time. The love comes from it being so freaking cool a profession. And so I keep my MCH title, and who know's if I will ever manage to find something else to do.

Anyhow, just my thoughts and feelings about being a CH.

The trick is to stop thinking of CH as a combat profession and admit it has been nerfed to a support profession. If you use smart tactics it is very effective. Imagine the surprise on the commando's face when my gurrek with 98% heat resist and light armor wouldn't die to his uber flamethrower. (it also has 60 energy and 45 kinetic )

So my pet could easily hold him off while I used my combat profession to finish the job. ForPVE fights I use different pets with different resists and specials. I just don't expect my pets to do the killing for me.

Yup, the key is to have a wide spectrum of pet resists, not just 60% K/E, personally i love my high heat/acid resist bluurg to death, he kills BH eyespammers and commando flame noobs regularily, also if your fighting alot of nooblets, use a rancor or a kimo, hell anything big will do, they all scare noobies into mindlessly shooting them while i pick them off with a few well aimed shots from ol'e trusty (laser carbine, 2.6 speed 70-380 damage and 15/60/16 HAMs).

See, that's one problem for me. In addition to being a wookiee, I am a pistoleer and often cannot do damage to buffed and composite armored opponents faster than they regenerate it.

I cant drop CH because then i wont be able to pull out my pets anymore, and they do seem more like pets now then weapons.
