Thread: are 2 lvl 35's better than a lvl 70

Question for all you MCH's
As I depend on my BE skills a bit more, I came into a canondrum. I was sellin a lvl 68 pet and the MCH I was makin the sale had a revelation. Why should he get 1 lvl 70 tank with a 13k ham armor, kin and specials versus 2 lvl 35 pets with 10k ham a piece, armor, kin and specials. As a Tank maker I gave up. I see 13k have versus 20k ham, I see 2 specials versus 4, I see 550-600 damage verse 800-900 damage. I think I'm going to quit soon. I'm a wookiee, BE, CH... I'm gettin screwed 3 ways. So far they have improved me with some wookiee armor, They made BE a bit more profitable with Chef additives, BUT my CH is horriblynerfed. I dont know what kinda whine goes best with Coredeep: red, white, or blush. Maybe I just made a bad choice being the character I've chosen, or buying this game.
I just think that a lvl 70 pet should bebetter than 2 lvl 35's or 3 lvl 23's. If or when CH's are ever fixed I think that the pet lvl system needs a revamp. Lvl 70 pets should be comparable to a TKM. A lvl 70 should be able to whomp up on 2 lvl 35s or at least be comparable.

I prefer to have 2 level 30-35 tanks out, than 1 level 60-70 tank.
makes my life easier. If one happens to go down (which isn't often) I can usually run in and heal him up a bit while the other tank continues to occupy the attention of the target.

I perfer one big pet, its easier to keep tract of and manage, plus i dont have to wait 30 seconds to get it out.

It depends on the situation. If you are fighting one or two enemies that won’t swarm onto you, then a lvl70 may be better. If there is a chance that some enemies may skip your pet and come straight after you, then having 2 or 3 out is great so that you can pick up the additional threat as it comes in. I personally prefer using my lvl 50 12k Ham / 60% kin / light armor pet to tank and then keeping a lvl 20 just to get something off me if I get in trouble

Against a single target, I perfer a single level 70 pet (provided it's not one of the big ones -- like a kimo -- that'll run away at the first opportunity tryng to get in optimal targeting range).
Against groups of mobs, I perfer two CL 35 pets. They can end up attacking separate targets and if one gets knocked down the other can continue to attack. Plus the damage on two 35s tends to outweigh a single 70.

The Devs have stated that they wanted one level 70 to be better than 2 level 35s. That little factoid aside...
I prefer to have 2 pets at a time. I primarily occupy the role of crowd control and with 2 pets I can engage 2 targets and keep them occupied. Lately I've been playing with one level 53 BE gurreck because his resists and armor together make him worthy of tanking on krayt hunts and such where typically there is only one mob to engage and that one mob demands some respect.
A friend just retired CH and gave me his pair of 35 gurrecks so I may have to try them out. My typical configuration though was a boar wolf and a TMB. Having a little variance in the strengths of my pets seemed like a good idea.
Overall I'd say the two 35s or one 70 debate comes down to strategy. It depends on how and what you're typically hunting whether it makes more sense one way or another.
