You can read it all here:

http://swg.stratics.com/content/news/GeneralNews.php#newsitem1129774050,94872,

but I think the pertinent info for us is that......

1. The ability to tame higher level pets ( eventually up to cl80,) is available from the 25th for those that pre-ordered.

2. The expansion will include "wearable buffs" - unknown if these affect our taming level or chance, like BE clothing does currently.

3. The CHU-GON DAR Cube is the new must have quest item attainable by even cl1 characters. It sounds like a sort of crafting tool which is used to re-combine certain loot items into new items.

it is NOT tradeable.

There is obviously lots more general stuff in the link above, but these seem to be the points for us. Hope I haven't missed anything.

the cube is easy to get, though there were lvl60 fleas there when I went. and apparently it works JUST as the cubie think worked itn DIABLO..so if you played diablo, you know what I am talking about, if you do not...you put three items in it, toggle it on, and a NEW ( potentially DIFFERENT/ENHANCED) item will be created.

Nope, never played Diablo.

I am thinking this cube will be the thing that creates the "new thing" that will allow us to train up to cl 80.

We just need to find out what 3 things go in the cube thing to make the new things. hehe

i hope wookiees & Ithorians can wear these buffs - i wouldnt want to be the devs if they cant. Im hoping they will be some sort of clothing attachments, but we shall see.

Yeah, that can be a problem if I can't wear these buffs. I will be most displeased with their apparent lack of progress.

Iconic professions. Ok. Chewbacca was a Scout. How come that didn't stay?

When you think about it, aren't almost all of the original professions iconic? You can find something on each of them in the Expanded Universe.

I miss being a Ranger. It was more than a profession, it was a virtual way of life. It wasn't for everyone. But those who took it up became family.

Yeah this has me very worried especially since during Beta I did a quest where the final reward is the Mustafar Medallion and it gives a slight health bonus. The quest is a bit of a pain to do but also fun.

I tried to equip the medallion and got the "Your racial status does not allow you to equip this item" message! GRRRRRRRR

What the heck! It's a friggin medallion you slip over your head and because I am a Wookiee I can't do that. I cry foiul big time if it is that way in live!

Sorry, it's canon. Did Chewie get a medal at the end of A New Hope? No. So Lucas has set a precedence that Wookiee's can't wear medals. Sorry.

I wear the Rhodian medal of Excellence in Hunting and I am a Wookie.

I agree that the new CH items might be clothing attachments. They would be easy to program in with all the other skill tapes currently in circulation. I would be upset if after all this pet taming and grinding I find my Wookie, who has a racial bonus in this profession, is denied his ultimate birth right to be the best CH he can truly be.

Making it a clothing/armor attachment would be a horrible idea. Best bet would be a ring or necklace. But knowing my luck, it'd prob be a bandolier so that I wouldn't be able to equip my backpack and lose out on 50 item slots.
