I went through the In Testing forums and found the following disturbing news in the latest pacht notes, Version 0.119755 - April 14, 2005.

Grouping

Group level calculation only uses players (and not pets)

And one fix:

Pets

  • Fixed pets re-learning their names multiple times.

  • It is like someone said in the thread that followed the latest notes:

    basically this should read:

    • Creature Handler Pets are no longer considered weapons and will not be considered as part of group calculations.

How this really affects us still has to be seen. If anyone of you on TC has more info about this please let us know.

You can find the thread here: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=in_testing&message.id=61809

I dont see how this really affects the CH proffession.

If i am correct then group level is the highest level group member in the group.

A single Elite combat is around level 50, a double (i am guessing) is close to 100? So if you are a double master the Ch is always going to be a higher level than the pet, so it wouldnt have counted anyway.

This really only affects single prof CH's...but now scout counts for combat level, i would imagine this is a reduction of about 10 levels to your overall group level.

Now if CH didnt count towards combat level this would be a major pain! But since our combat capability (level) is held in our skill tree our pets shouldnt affect group level (otherwise you are getting a double benefit).

    Just thoughts

Have you seen a Rancor on TC? ( I have not, alought I am curious now)If you are correct that would meann a dual master combat person will be able to solo Rancors mabey even Bull Rancors (currently the highst level "natural" pets)

If the second statement is correct that means the Devs flat out lied to us when they stated the CU was in part to rid the galaxiy of high end soloing...............

I did see juvinial (sp) on Tat yesterday, its level................245......................

    already a thread on it

Sorry, didn't know that. I just wanted to share this information with the community.

Can you give me the address of the other thread?

    Thx.

The nerf bat is a swingin' - How the Ch's just got smacked, posted by JakeBlues21.

Yes, let us all stick to one thread, I agree.

Hmmm, what thread did you really mean?!?! JakeBlues21's post was posted (04-15-2005 03:27 PM) after mine (04-15-2005 11:33 AM) and you responded before (04-15-2005 03:16 PM) that was posted. Ah heck, never mind. I won't post that soon again. Responses to new guys/gals in this community hasn't exactly been warm, and no this isn't my first post. Gheez!!! Maybe it has to do with time differences, I don't know, I don't care. Fact is, you guys aren't exactly welcoming.

I also saw that you have just become a master Joker9125, congratulations with that. But I've been a master for a lot longer, believe me. But only lately I started posting here. Now I will go into silence again, goodbye!!!
