Buffs every time I go hunting for a GPS:
9k
Money per hour for the ranger I commisioned:
11k
Money per hour for the group I hired to clear a high spawn area
3k
Having a friend claim they accidentaly killed one the day before I started looking...
priceless
Any more ideas for getting a spawn? Or should I continue my every-moment-I-have-on-SWG swoop search?

Get Master TK and you won't need those extra people to help you fend off the higher level stuff (for now). Use a speeder or landspeeder, not a swoop. A swoop will bypass lairs before they appear on your map. A Ranger is not necessary, but an added convenience. Save yourself 20k (9k mob clear +11k ranger)and scour yourself.
