Well i hate to be negative, however i dont see the CH pets being anything more than a generic companion or perhaps even a drop of extra HP for some generic tanking. The fact is as long as our pets can be used "WHILE" holding a weapon "AND" doing damage our pets will "NOT" be:
1. Damage dealers
2. Armor type tankers
3. able to solo or even stand a chance with ANY high level player in PvP
Ive been pure pet dependent since i can first remember, its always been my hope SWG would make the Creature Handler profession very pet dependent with the offset of pets able to be very comparable with weapons from other professions for DPS and pets what would actually "TANK and hold AGRO" for a group of damage dealers in the event the group lacked one. However, the fact that even with the upcoming CU our pets will continue to be used with a combat profession only acknowledges the fact that our pets will continue to be nothing more than generic companions.
I really hope everyone that keeps asking for "more damage", "more tanking", "more specials" and "more PvP pet types" do get it, however ive been an MCH for way to long and fear i no longer have the strengh to continue and hope.
Personally, i actually like the direction in which the CU is headed as it adds "ROLES" per say for groups and players in general, its just that being that ive always been a hardcore pet dependent type of player i.e. Engineer or MP in Anarchy Online, Dark Age of Camelot i played Necro and Cabalist, Ultima Online played a Tamer and the list goes on with other MMORPG's its just too bad that our Creature handler pets will continue to be nothing more than a generic companion.
And for those of you that dont understand what im talking about: Bottom line as long as Creature Handler pets can be used with any weapon at hand our pets NOR our Creature Handler profession will EVER be comparable to others NOR do i see how Creature Handler will be the "plug in for groups that need a role type either".
Sorry for such a weird post, i just figured id share my thoughts and im slowly growing tired of waiting.
