I've just became a creature handler and thought a wrix would be a good pet, lvl12 and none aggro etc. So i went on a search found a camp, and started killing the adults, when i threw traps on them i got only works on creatures etc. Then as the baby spawned i could not tame it, have i missed something? Do i need 1/0/0/0 first?

Could always be the (you cannot tame) bug. What most don't know is that this bug ALSO makes it so no adult creature can be sampled from for DNA purposes.

Must have been, just found another lair with a baby and could tame it without any problem

I'm happy to hear you were able to tame one of the kittens. A wrix was my early grinding companion for CH, lo, two years ago. Aggressive, fast, fearless. Great little pet. In group hunts I sent her in on tortons on Talus and got great XP, as well as for low level yard trash grinding. Now she's living on the datapad of Zanti, and still does good work against low level mobs that Zanti as a level 18 with no combat skills at all toon occasionally takes on as a break from crafting.
The other great novice CH starter pet is the cu pa due to the ranged attack, which I believe they still have, even though you can't train the toggle until you're an MCH.
