HI all.

I am currently MSmuggler, Mpistols, medic 4x4x nov Doc xxxx ( for the heals )

However, Im getting a little bored of this template now. I was once a CH, way before the CU, but never made it very far.

As you can probably guess, I'm thinking of dropping smuggler to get CH, so i can have scout skills again and enjoy the fun that comes with pets.

I'm asking for your experience as CHers as to whether its worth getting. I enjoy CH and having pets etc, but would I just be almost useless again? what are you thoughts? I enjoy a bit of PVP and PVE!

So the second question is, If I should go for MCH, what should i get as combat proff? I like MPistols, but it uses up more skill points than say, MBH. I do feel i need med skills as this has helped me a lot lately, im thinking medic xx4x

thanks for you input guys

If novice doc is that good, stick with it but make sure you've got instant stimpacks too, I dunno if their on a separate timer or not but it'll be needed. Pistoleer has some fancy pants root I believe, and even without stacking it with the smuggler root, it would still work decently. The thing about CH in PVP is there is no reason for the enemy to even touch the pet, so the key is to keep them as far away as possible, preferably with KDs and roots and all that jazz. Also, an average pet will do about 40-50 damage a hit to an Mdefender, so don't try fighting jedi unless you know for sure they don't have much defender. You could actually drop some pistol lines and take up the BH lines for some of their specials, would certainly get people to stay away from you and closer to your pet . PvE currently with CH is pretty decent, but once patch 20 hits live, CH will be worse than useless against multiple enemies, as you'll be incapped almost instantly as crowds of NPCs agro you instead of the pet.

As for non-jedi people, pets can do about 100-200 damage a hit, BE pets doubly so since their twice as fast as wild pets with 1 speed instead of 2, and if you can root or snare someone long enough that damage can and will stack up with a high damage pet.

Cool, thank you for your reply!

I will definately have to think long and hard. I'd love to be able to have master scout too, but that would leave no room for heals..

hmmm, /ponder

Creature handler can be fun or it can be very frustratingdepending on what you want to get out of the game. You must ask yourself that question first. If you want to PvP then creature handler may not be the best choice. It is a choice. It is not the best choice.

If you enjoy PvE then creature handler is a good option. Again, it probably isn't the best but it is an option. After patch 20 comes out the creature dynamic is going to change. How you approach that new dynamic will be up to you. It will definitely involve tactics to take down a mob, and maybe a lot of running. Novice doc will definitely come in handy.

Keep in mind, there are bugs with every profession and creature handler is no different. Some of the bugs can be frustrating. When you find yourself becoming upset just remember to say (out loud is the best) this is just a video game. I'm upset at a bunch of pixels. Is it really worth it? Then take a break. The game will be here when you come back.

Creature handler is a lot more fun than just toting around a big gun.

(for me, it is time to move on but it isn't because CH isn't fun any longer.)

I'd second this advice. If you want to be the best, or you like your game easy, then CH is a poor choice. If you like a challenge and like it when good strategy and planning are required, it can be very rewarding.

Another great reply, what i'd come to expect from this more mature profession (i didnt say anything about jedi!! ).

Unfortunately, after much thinking, I decided to go somewhere comepletely different, although similar in a way, as the profession I chose, is equally not the 'best' for PVP or PVE, but perhaps more fun (especially for your group). I decided to go for Master Squad Leader.

I kept Master Pistols, and this template allowed me to have CM 4xxx for the lovely lil heals you get.

thanks for all your help CHers, you will likely see me here from time to time though, so you havent got rid off me yet.

Bye Guys.

ok, well, still searching for my most favourite template to stick with, I have turned again (after getting and dropping SL) back to MCH!!

Im now going for MBH/MCH/CM4xxx hopefully this will give me a good template for both PVP and PVE even if it wont be 'L33t' (i hate that l33t h4xor speak ) in either.

wish me luck

The following is what I posted to another thread, earlier....

Its a cut and paste, so it doesn't complete apply to you since you've been a CH before.

Master BH / Master CH / 4000 Combat Medic.

Have the 3 pets and get a DE to make you a Adv R3 with 1 Combat Module, 1 Level 6 Armor Module, 1 Level 6 Medical Module, and 4 Detonation Modules. Group up with the 4 pets and keep them healed. Since most of the of the Jedi that you will run into are geared towards more damage, they may not be inadequite with mass AOE damage, which is what they would need against 5 targets.

What you will want out of your 3 pets is at least 3k Health and as close to x - 300 damage as you can get. With the 3 pets and a droid, you will be causing an extra 100 - 300 points of damage every second, depending on the Jedi's template and how good your pets work together.

The one thing that you want to do is make sure that the droid doesn't get incapped. It can help to turn the tide of battle, since it will pack at least a 1k punch, when you tell it to detonate. Save the droid for the last moment, since it will add a good amount of damage during your fight and the 110 Medical will boost your heals by a good ammount.

Depending on how Female Narglatch fair with the next publish, they may be the way to go with pets. They have high damage and high Health, and will serve you well in a battle.

Making SWG more Star Warsy. One droid at a time.
