Thread: pet commands
I'm not sure if I am alone here, but I find a lot of the pet commands available to creature handlers to be pretty much useless, in particular the Patrol and Formation commands. Therefore I started thinking about some alternatives to replace them, here are some of my ideas: -
1) Rest - Pet sits down, lies down or whatever they do when resting and gains a hugely improved regen rate. This command only works while the pet is outside of combat and is cancelled if combat commences. A reasonable regen rate would be 1% HAM everyfewseconds, decentstims should still be able to heal the pet faster and can be used during combat so their benefit will not be removed.
2) Aggressive Melee - This changes the way the pet reacts to incoming enemy attacks. If the pet, owner or another pet belonging to its owner is attacked the pet will proceed to charge into melee attack with the aggressor, unless the pet is already engaged in combat.
3) Aggressive Ranged - This changes the way the pet reacts to incoming enemy attacks. If the pet, owner or another pet belonging to its owner is attacked the pet will proceed to move to optimal range for its ranged attack and attack the aggressor, unless the pet is already engaged in combat.
4) Defensive - This changes the way the pet reacts to incoming enemy attacks. The pet will only respond when it is directly attacked and will use ranged attacks in preference to melee attacks unless it doesnt have them or is within melee range.
5) Passive - This changes the way the pet reacts to incoming enemy attack. The pet will not respond to incoming attacks and will remain in its current position.
Issuing the current Attack commandshouldoverride 2-5 above until the specified target is dead.
Please feel free to add constructive comments on the above.
Please leave formations alone!!
It is the only way I can keep some of my pets from trying to "be one" with me, or occupy the same space, or standing on my toes, whatever you want to call it.
Just whatever you do leave formations alone!
Thank you.
