Thread: 1st creature?

I was wondering what animals you 1st tamed to give the novice CH'S an idea of what to look for on our 1st creature.Oh and did you have some "treats" in your hand when approaching it?Ive read the guide but is there any other tips you could offer as well?

My first was a kaadu that a very good friend ( who has now left) helped me tame last year. The only tips i can think to try are always mask scent and make sure u dont have a weapon equipped.
P.s Always walk up to the creature, dont run

hmmmmy first tame... cowardly gurreck (been hooked on cats ever since)... but that was long ago... picked up CH on a new toon and tamed a cu pa and female kaduu, its useful as a mount... my rodian looks just the right size for a cu pa...
also get a broken cdef, the 0/1 condition type, that will do no damage whatsoever... i say this over unequiping a weapon because if you have any amount of unarmed you'll end up killing whatever the baby is accidently...

My first pet back when I wear a novice ch tag was a rock beetle. They had light armor and were under lvl 15. When I got ch manage 3 I had two of those little guys out getting great xp.
I am about to start grinding ch again on another server so will have to find new creatures to get me through novice ch.

My first and longest serving creature is my Dewback, Chubby. My loyal mount, and trusty companion, even when i lost my creature handling skills and strayed down less fun paths, Chubby was always by my side. Shall never leave my datapad!

It was a Womp Rat named Rat, I did horrible things to him that I am not proud of... but it was considered a lab rat and I did many different experiments with him, and becasue of them the rest of my pets take very little vit loss.

My first pet was a bio-engineered lvl10 grrcat (I wanted specific colors) a short while after the game launched. I still have 'Leroy' today regardless of his value as a combat pet (which he obviously isn't even though he is bioengineered he only has 930 HAM, no resists and no significant specials). My first tame as a CH was a lesser dewback, and dewbacks are stillarguably my favorite creatures (love the cats of all types too).

Yeah, I have to agree the dewback is what drew me in. Then I wanted a rancor, then I wanted to know where to find those giant turtles that seem to come in pairs that are tromping around everywhere. Then Graul Maulers where do they come from? Doth or Dant (was always in debate)... hey where did all the creatures go.... nobody seems to have any out anymore.
Those fricken turtles used to scare the crap out of me.
Also I am not 100% on howthis happened... but I believe for a short while you could release pets or when they stayed in while you were in RL they would go into the wild and remain until killed or maybe server restart... I know for sure it was one or the other cause I got killed by a wild Graul Mauler in Espa once, and few days before my friend saw a Rancor wreak havoc in Eisley. Those were the good old days this game was so much fun when it was scarry. Every time I saw those turtles I froze I just knew they were comming for me.... and I was always so sure that one day my mt. Squill would turn on me.
