Frenzied Graul is best imo followed by Bark Mite Burrower Queen....both unfortunately are....you guessed it....not tameable anymore.

I think the gurreck is still your best bet, but gurrecks have become semi-rare. I see many more gurreck varients on Endor than I do gurrecks, and the varients are nearly always aggro.

The GMs got nerfed into near uselessness in the great nerf. Poor dears.

best pve kenetic tamed tank in teh game is the dilerious merrik avenger, period. There is no other tamable in the game that can tank as well against kenetic attacks.

TMB is best overall methinks, but cant hold a candle to the dilerious merrik avenger.

I think the dilerious merek avenger has the best armour and kinetic resists but is a lower CL and has a lower HAM making it not as effective as the Arachne Widow. It is okay for kinetic but PvE does not mean always kinetic. I consider the energy resists aswell as the most common of ranged humanoid shooters and then add cold, heat and acid as secondary resists and electricity, stun and blast as tertiary resists you want against higher level PvE mobs.

For mine, that puts Arachne Widow as the the best all round PvE pet but it is ridiculously rare if it even spawns babies anymore.

12400 HAM, Light armour, 40% kinetic and energy, 70% heat and 80% cold and acid. It also has 5% for blast and electricity so will still benefit from the light armour rating. It is only vulnerable to stun and lightsabre. CL 58 and hits for 400-510.

Its effective HAM is 41333 vs kinetic and energy.

The Dilerious Merek Avenger has a 10700 HAM and 45% kinetic giving it an effective kinetic HAM of 38909, a little inferior to the Arachne Widow but its other resists are far inferior. It has 5% for blast, heat, cold, electricity and acid but more importantly is vulnerable to energy which is a big no-no for me when it comes to PvE. With only a 10700 HAM against the vast majority of shooters it is limited to just tanking creatures. It has a lower damage output and doesn't have the strong poison the widow has (both have stunning strike).

The Widow is one wild creature I would use even amidst BE pets, it is a good pet.

My first choice istoxic merek battlelord though I also really like the rhoa kwi guardian (both CL45). They both have excellent overallresists and almost no vulnerabilities. If your max level pet is 70, they have the added advantage that you can combine them with eitherthe boar wolfor grand wrix which are probably the best CL25 pets available.

i will be darned:

widow: HAM 12400, vs kenetic 41333

DMA: HAM 10700, vs kenetic 38909

who knew? As for your other arguements, you are arguing with the wind as I was only talking about vs kenetic which is ALL that matters right now in the game unless you are trying to fight a night sister.

As for using a widow vs BE pets, knock yourself out if you want die sooner than most. I got off of the not using BE pets high horse a long long time ago. A widow is a pet in my datapad to have for show, nothing more.

Also, the DMA is a much better choice if you want to be able to use a wild pet within the next 2-3 months lol (in case you haven't noticed, they are a bit difficult to find.)

So in summation, go get yourself a Delerious Merrik Avenger my friend. TMB is the next best thing, a widow is certainly nice if you can find it though, but wow they are hard to find, so good luck.

(or even better, a good BE pet like my gurrek 60% ken, 12000 ham, 80% resists to all except stun and lightsaber)

Gurrecks and rancors with intimidation both beat the DMA, TMB, and any other wild tamable pet on single targets... hands down. And sincegurrecks and rancors are CL 50, their intimidate will stick early in fights and remain for the duration if you use a looping macro. Intimidate your target and you just more than doubled the HAM of your pet.

Of course, the higher kinetic HAM of a widow, DMA, and TMBwill become more important as the number of mobs attacking your pet increases. If I were fighting more than2-3 targets, I'd probably use one of those. Of course, I have several CL 25-53 BE pets that will put the widow, DMA, and TMB to complete shame though

Nah, I know a lot of people that hunt humanoids, that requires a mix of kinetic and other resists.

I do not have any wild creatures, but if I had access to a widow I would use one more out of interest than necessity. Widow has some nice resists but the kinetic is a bit low for my liking.

Also, the DMA is a much better choice if you want to be able to use a wild pet within the next 2-3 months lol (in case you haven't noticed, they are a bit difficult to find.)

Yep, mentioned the widow is hard to find.

Could you link a screenshot of that pet somewhere? I've been told by BEs that they can't get higher than 60% resistances on anything and I have yet to see a BE pet with a resistance over 60%. It would be good to get some evidence of higher resistances.

Dude?

"Nah, I know a lot of people that hunt humanoids, that requires a mix of kinetic and other resists."

^I (me, not you, but me (I)) was talking about kenetic which is the MOST important thing right now. If you asked about heat resists, I would change my opinion about best pve tank.

**Also, you can call another pet like a GSP with a DMA, you cant with a widow, making it inferior in my book.

"I do not have any wild creatures, but if I had access to a widow I would use one more out of interest than necessity. Widow has some nice resists but the kinetic is a bit low for my liking."

^point, taken, you dont have one. Tough to find aren't they? Use BE or a DMA, much easier to find. I conceded that the widow is actually a better kenetic tank in PvE. I was wrong.

"Yep, mentioned the widow is hard to find."

I know you did. I re-iterated it is a very big point here.

"Could you link a screenshot of that pet somewhere? I've been told by BEs that they can't get higher than 60% resistances on anything and I have yet to see a BE pet with a resistance over 60%. It would be good to get some evidence of higher resistances. "

^Sure. Send me a private message to remind me, Ihave tons of pets with 80% plus resists on things other than Ken, kenetic is the one that is capped at 60%. I have a kimo with 90% resist to heat in datapad I might be giving away soon.

All things here are opinions of mine, but you cant argue with the numbers. DMA is still king as a kenetic tank. TMB is still best all around.
