haha, radioactive rancor....it might deal that special radioactive damage thing artisans get if they try and sample radioactive by hand. or maybe just poison or something. you should try it out .

Yesterday I tamed a rancor near the sarlacc pit, which seems to be rancor city...I think I stumbled on the legendary "valley of the rancors" here.

Anyway, the baby stayed at CL 5 most of the day, then had a little growth spurt to CL 20 in the evening, and now today it's at CL 35. At this rate, it will be full grown by this evening some time.

This seems to me to be a bit fast, given that it took a full week for my mountain dewback to get to CL 20. The bull bantha took four days. GSP, tamed on Monday night, is now at full size. CRC tamed the next night at CL 26 right now and the next growth tick should take it to full size.

I've reported this on the beta boards...I took the rancor out and had him gambol around the Sorusuub in both the Naboo and Tatooine systems, just for kicks. I'm wondering if there's adequate cosmic radiation shielding on the Sorusuub and it's accellerated the growth of the rancor.

Beta is due to end in about an hour, so I logged in for one last time to say goodbye to my beta kids.

The rancor is fully grown, only two days after he was tamed. Dunno what to make of this, but it might be that the trip into space accellerated the growth.

Or, it's just a bug.

Once JTL goes live, someone needs to take it upon him or herself to experiement with this; I can't in the "real world", I'm only 4/0/4/4 right now on Ahazi and can't even call the rancor I have now, let alone tame another one or two to experiment with growth rates of space exposed vs. never called in space critters.

Probably worth pursuing!

I've always wondered why didn't pets growth rates very so dramatically.....I've heard different theories like 'depends how often and for how long your logged in', 'depends on how many times you call/use the pet,'depends on whether it's a BE or wild pet' etc etc etc.....

It would be nice to get the definitive answer (as long as it's not just another bug that's been swept under the carpet!)

Very interesting stuff Sio. Hmmm. Ill check this out for sure when JTL hits live. For about the last 3-4 months all my pets, BE or normal, have taken "exactly" 7 days to reach full growth size regardless of how many times I call or used them. Ive experimemnted with this quite a bit. An increased growth rate would be a nice change for sure, but i doubt its intentional. Lets hope tho!

The only thing that has seemed to make a difference is that if you have only a few pets in your datapad, they grow faster. Still somewhat random, but faster.

I do not know if it is relative pad space or total percentage, but then, I've been over (the aggro/non-aggro split fix) maximum, or near it, for more than a year.

the only info i have on growth rates is that i didn't log in for about 2 weeks, and my craggy bolma was still (20)47 or something like that. the next few days i was on for a few hours each, and he grew all the way. Now i just wish he was mountable (thats a different rant )

Thanks Sio, I have passed this along to the Devs. If anyone discovers more information on this, please let me know.
