Just a few thoughts on feeding creatures, both wild and domesticated...

We should be able to feed animals to sooth them while taming. Feed parents to keep them chilled while babies are pursued, feed babies to prevent them from running around while taming and to maybe increase chance of a tame marginally. Of course nothing would be garunteed, it would just be a nice extra option to have at our disposal and to add to immersion. The type of food needed could vary wildly and could either be a chef type food, a foraged food (gasp a reason to forage!), or something else entirely. It would be cool if each type of creature had 1 or more things that they like to eat and they would refuse other things offered. That way we would have to figure out what they all liked or wanted. Could be interesting.

When feeding hungry creatures (both pets and wilds) we should be able to feed them raw resources, being as thats what they eat anyways. Oats, vegetables, meats, etc. Especially meat for carnivore creatures! The amount they eat should be dependant on their size (primary) and their CL (secondary). This would be a nice factor to differentiate between the different pets we have, keeping in mind feeding costs for the big guys. Big guys should require more food when they are hungry right now IMHO. It always seems silly when both my lil gurreck and my huge frenzied graul both get full after eating a single foraged onion. *rolls eyes* Actually for carnivore pets why not allow us to target a freshly killed creature and let them feast on it(with animation of course!), preventing a harvest from that corpse but filling our pet up nicely. Having them drink from water would also be cool, especially if they did it on their own when standing idle by a water source.

Obviously this feeding of 'wild' animals would need to be a CH only skill. Preferably one not aquired at novice. Possibly even a master CH skill.

And lastly, I think that if you have a pet befriended to someone then that person should also be able to feed your pet. I dont know why that isnt an option right now actually.

Just more stuff to kick around and think about folks. I realize we have much bigger pressing issues for our beloved prof, but i dont think that should stop us from brainstorming and having fun.

It could be pretty cool to have more "active" things you can do during the taming process, rather than just watching and getting ready to run if the baby aggros. I'm not sure how I feel about feeding them raw resources, though. Resources in this game are all packaged up... so it would almost feel like giving your pet a can of spam to me.

I do still think it would be pretty cool to have the whole "feeding on enemies" thing that you mention. Particularly if we're talking about a rancor picking up an NPC and popping them in its mouth as a "death blow." Just have to make sure it's not gory enough to mess with SWG's Teen rating.

Ive always held the opinion that you should have to feed pets for them to do anything. Kinda like with droids only instead of the *low power* it wouldsay *(petname) hungry* or *(petname) thirsty*after being out for so long and would require different ammount of food based on size although now that Skuzz has mentioned it CL shouldbe a factor to. I also like the idea of giving them raw resources, liquids, the part about carnavores eating meat and herbivores eating plants and such, and I espically liked the part about having a pet feed off a corpse.

I think this would be a serious WOW factor for PvP and should automatically force you to clone and should in all reality work on a FD player as well.

Hmmmm.........................This gives me an idea for how to impliment CH bounties for BH'sI think ill post a new topic here andgo pop my head into their fourm and post.
