If I call a pet that I have tamed in a player city or in the wild, will they ever attack without being told? Does the pet's aggresion play a a part in this?

The answer is no. Unless you teach the "guard" command. Then Guard (when issued properly) makes your pet attack those things that attack you.

To issue Guard properly you must make sure you are targetted (control+1), then issues the command.

Actually, that is not completely correct. On occasion, some creatures like the Swamp Stalker will attack nearby creature instantly after they are called and without being told too. This may or may not be a bug, but has been discussed previously on these forums. Try doing a search for Swamp Stalker.

I'll agree. I've actually seen pets with high ferocity, like a GPS turn on another of it's master's pets. Adds a degree of realism to the CH profession,I think.

There is nothing more fun than sneaking past a high end mob successfully, only to have your pet aggro them and get you both killed.

Never ever seen it happen. Agro for the sake of agro. I have seen my pets agro because they were actively dotted. Even if the creature that dotted it to begin with is dead it will attack something else.

When my GPS was finally full grown I had him out near Coronet. All of a sudden he took off and went after a durni, lol. After that I was careful. But about a month ago they patched in the fix on the GPS and Swamp Stalker agros. So they no longer agro on there own. Of course I haven't tested it since the patch.
