my attack command is a (tried kill as well)

so i would type /tellpet a........and thats it right?

Rescue you are correct. if you trained Attack as "a", then /tellpet a should work.

Unfortunately your getting hit by a tellpet bug. Try using /tellpet attack instead. It seems to be less buggy.
