Just want to get this straight, how is effective HAM calculated and what is the effective resistance rating of light armour? I've been working on the principle that 50% kinetic reduces all damage by 50%, so a 10k HAM pet with 50% kinetic has an effective HAM of 20k, correct? Now, were this pet to have light armour, that would mean an effective HAM of 40k towards kinetic damage, based on light armour providing 50% kinetic resistance. Is this correct? I'm trying to calculate the effective HAM of my light-armoured 43% kinetic BE pet and using this calculation, that makes it 37200 effective HAM.

From what I understand, light armor gives 50% resist to all. Kinetic, energy, etc. resists calculate off the remaining damage. So, light armor +20% kinetic= 60% kinetic resist.

Also, I heard that vulnerabilities= -100%. However I am not sure this is true. This seems unlikely as -100% vulnerabilities could never be bred out. It is more likely -60% or thereabouts. This is why light armor alone can't overcome a vulnerability.

If the armour has a vulnerability it means it doesn't protect at all against that type of dmg, all goes through.

If you have light armour it halves any dmg made from weapons with armour piercing none. So 100 non armour piercing becomes 50. Resistance of 20% on that would reduce the dmg by 10 and the creatureis hurt for40 dmg. 60% removed all in all as Bowler said.

If the weapon has armour piercing light and the creature light armour then only the resistance applies.

If the weapon has armour piercing medium and the creature light armour add 25% to the damage before applying the resistance.

If the weapon has armour piercing heavy and the creature light armour add 25% then 25% again to the damage before applying resistance.

If a creature have no armour and is shot by a heavy armour piercing weapon add 25% on the dmg, then 25% again and finally 25% extra.

Sorry when I was speaking of vulnerabilities I was speaking in a bioengineer sense, and how to overcome them when crafting. I forgot this was the CH forum :0

I have been trying to figure this out. What is the mathematical formula for figuring out the effective HAM with kinitic resits. For example I have a pet with 2000 health with 25% kinetic resists. What is the effective ham against kinetic for this pet? How did you come up with that number?
