Thread: pets losing vitality in PvP

I'm not sure if this has been address before, but I used my pets when we were raided the other day and I noticed after the raid that my pets had lost about 10 vitality points. I didn't think players were able to deathblow your pets. Also, since my pets don't automatically store when I die they are losing vitality over and over again as a TKA or rifleman deathblow them everytime they come up from incap. And since pets don't really heal outside of the datapad so they are losing vitality at an extremely fast rate while I have to wait 60 seconds after the last time they are hit to store them. And if someone sits there and hits my pet every time it comes up from incap then I'll never be able to store him.

I barely have any other combat skills besides Master CH, so my pets are my weapon and with the nerf to creatures I will be able to hold my own in PvP even less than now. I don't even want to call out my creatures in PvP now because I'm afraid they will reach permadeath.

I have noticed this problem for awhile . I believe it is known by the devs and they are leaving it this way. One of those things to discourage something (PvP with pets) but not put it in the notes and call it an update. They let people believe it is a bug.

Non-CH players complain about CH pets being too overpowered in PvP.

The devs know there are alot of CH's and don't want to "nerf" creatures, because the ch community is upset. Some CH's don't even PvP, and don't want to be nerfed because people complain about ch pets in PvP.

So, the constant vitality loss "bug" gives that downside they always like. You can use pets in PvP with no nerf, but you risk the permadeath you talked about. Thats the deal. To make CH afraid to use good pets because they can be griefed by people constantly db'ing them. I mean ,who would use an extict pet in Pvp now?Exactly.

The only way around this is if you PvP alot, you need pets you don't care about. I have 2 rancors, 1 for pvp one for pve. But unless they lift the vitality loss deal, nobody will use really good pets. I had a blood-stained merek I was going to delete, but then I tought, I'll just keep him until I pvp next, if he loses vitality, oh well I was going to delete him anyway.

I thought that they had changed it so that pets were not supposed to lose Vitality in PvP action? Did I read this somewhere or am I just losing my frikkin mind?

This was a fix that was put into Publish 9 and Publish 10, but it doesn't seem to work in all cases. I've seen people discuss some theories as to what may be going on (perhaps if a high end enemyhits the pet with an attack that's far more damaging than required to take the HAM to zero?) Getting this fixed is on our Issue/Request list, however.

I refer you to this thread.

Vertexon -- thanks for keeping on the devs about this. I realize that in the big scheme of things this is relatively minor issue for the game as a whole but for us CH to have something promised *twice* and still not delivered is disheartening.
