Im a non ch, bought a lvl cupa with dizzy/knockdown attacks. How do i effectively use it, and/or better yet is it possible to macro a attack and select a enemy?

I tryed like /tellpet s1; /tellpet s2;

it didnt seem to work, or maybe the animal just couldnt stick a dizzy or knockdown, buti tryed it against a newb with 0 defenses, so i have no idea.

If anyone has insight on it for me that would be awesome

First, has it been taught the commands? (I assume so, but let's start at the beginning.)

I usually use longer phrases. It is possible that "s1" and "s2" do not work with tellpet. See if they go off when you use /say.

Knockdown does not work on command. You would be better served with a dizzy/cripple pet.

Mike,

First, BE pet KD does not work. So unless you have a KD of your own then your out of luck. Second, you need to make sure you get the specials trained by someone. Third, yes macros seem to help.

Follow other seems to be the better way to instigate attacks. For me the follow other command is TRAIL.

/tellpet trail
/pause 5
/tellpet s1
/pause .25
/tellpet s2
/pause .25
#then loop it. Not made a macro in months so I am not looking it up.

Now although KD does not work, it seems to take about 10+ seconds between the time it will try to deliver it. You will notice if you try to spam /tellpet s2 +posture down+ (in brunt orange) this means your pet tried. The next time you will see it is about 10 seconds later. I have a 44 gurreck that cannot land it on anything. We are waiting for a fix for this. Dizzy will work but seems useless without a KD to make it effective.

Pluto, KD doesn't work at all in pet specials. If it works for you on wild pets then tell me what server you're on, I'm moving there

this is for my jedi, the dizzy i can land it seems now, thanks for the help there and macros. I have ForceKnockdown2 so that combo seems to work well for me against bh's now. took out 2 last night with the dizzy from the pet and the knockdown from the forcespecial.

Other concern i have is this. How do i get my pet to stay basically, like i attack a lair, i tell it to stay sometimes, and it helps me start attacking. if there a command to do this?

Also, the pet is fully trained, and i use it as a mount, does this make a difference at all? if its a mount that is? people have told me none whatsoever

There has been a bug in tellpet that requires you use more letters than 2 in the commands. hence, use follow rather than f or kill rather than K, kill1 etc. Tellpet should work if you use more than 2 letter commands.

Stay is a commandyou can earn/learn as you move up CH - stay is not a attack command - it tells the pet to stay in place, however, it will auto defend if something aggros on it. It sounds like you may using stay to place the pet and leting it autodefend itself. Hence, why it seems like it fights sometimes and doesn't other times. You may be thinking of another useful command "guard". Once you have guard, it will defend you from aggor'd mobs on you....I have never used guard and stay in combination - can't say what happens....To attack a lair - just click the lair and use your kill command to attack it - it will attack until the lair is gone (sort of "staying" there - but not the same as the stay command is intended to be used).

To earn xp, some people will tell their pet to attack then tell it to come back using follow - often they then tell it to stay so it will not re-aggro on the creature that was attacked - you get full xp as long as the pet is not incapped....

Mount makes no difference at all for the pet. Once you climb off - use it to attack if you wish!

what i usually do is not even tell my pet to stay...just tell it to follow. once you tell it to follow, it will stop attacking whatever it is it's attacking. i find it great for PvE non npc's cause the creatures follow the pets. i send all my pets split up...tell them to follow, then let losse w/ fan shot. takes them all down within the same amount of time. so instead of stay...try follow next time hope it helps
