Hi,
I am going MCH with my alt account.. Now I've played MCH loooooong time ago. And have played MTK anumber of times. I can picture how that combo would workout. But I was thinking that maybe I'd try for MRM instead of MTK as the Combat Prof with MCH... I was thinking I could stand back and pick off the parents without enraging the babies. then walk in and tame the babies.. Is this realistic? What issues would I have to deal with, with a MRM/MCH combo?
Any Advice and insight would be of great help..
Thank you...

These two combinations seem to me to be the most intriguing of the match an elite combat proff with MCH combos.
MRM makes sense in that the critters are, by design, there to tank and draw aggro while you sit (or lie prone) aways away and shoot at the target your critters are entertaining. The danger while taming is that the kids might get drawn in and you'll have to react fast to save the situation and not injure the kids. I remember having a situation with a gurreck baby that resulted in near disaster, but I tamed the little tyke just in time to get him out of harm's way (darn nearby mantigrues screwing things up...this was during the infamous "Ring of Death" period on adventure worlds.)
TKM makes sense particularly when you're taming and are up close and personal with distraught parents and other relatives as you attempt to kidnap their children.
Pistoleer also seems to make sense as it's the most "melee" oriented of the ranged professions.
Some MCHs have sworn by MRM, some by TKM. I think either one is a good combo with MCH.

I was going to post something intelligent sounding, but SioBabble pretty well summed up what I would have said!

I was a MRM for a little while but switched to TKM because I simply do so much more damage faster, plus I don't have to worry when I get poisoned or diseased fighting. MRM was just too slow and it seemed that aggros would come after me anyway because my pet was attacking them.

hey jakkarus, nice template, i'm heading for the exact same myself at the minute, although i'm going to drop ranger when i get the pets i want.
i'm unsure what to go for after that. i've seen riflemen able to hit for 2000+ damage per shot, which is way more than i can do as a tkm, but the whole self wound healing would be hard to give up.
i quite like the idea of master swords/4004tka, though i'd like to know more about how much difference it makes defense wise

Yeah, I don't think you can go wrong either way, but I say Rifle/Pistoleer.
Much more of a star warsy feel.

i like my current setup .. mch 4004 tka and master swords .. you can tank pretty much anything in the game .. and tame up close since your a melee profession .. just be careful you dont kill babies

I am going for MCH/TKM myself mainly because of the ability to meditate away poison/disease. I created this toon solely for PVE as I wanna roleplay the Hunter/CH so Im not too fussed about my pvp ability.
Rifleman is great for pvp surprises - my old toon was a CH/rifleman and I would often be challenged to duels when I had my pets out and my CH tag up. Mostly by noobs who wanna have a go at your pet. While they are distracted, a couple of headshots from my T21 made short work of the duel - got so used to the comment "bloody rifleman"
Both templates are great IMO - depends mainly on ur play style. Rifleman does have the distinct advantage of concealshot - great for cleaning out a lair while leaving the baby safe. But then TKM has the ability to meditate which is great CHs who get close and personal with all critters out there

make sure that if you do the TKM that you carry around a cdef pistol... equip it when you are trying to tame something...
TKM- meditate, nice melee and state defences... only one type of weapon
MRifle- concealshot (great for killing parents), single pull ability, many different damage types, and alot easier to speed cap now with the FS mods... so you'll kill everything fast...
MPistols- low damage, decent defences, most attacks are broken or redundant though, does the least amount of damage per second...
here is a fun template-
MCH/MPike/TK 4,0,0,0/medic 1,0,0,0
pikes attacks look so cool, and if you were to drop medic and invest in FS melee speed you would about hit the cap... thats some mad damage then (i loved making swordsmen mad by out damageing them)... the only downside is there is only 2 damage types for them (3 if you count the impossable to get energy lance)... plus you still get the TK med line...

m rifle, medic 4340, mch.
the only way to go with Ch IMO.
Heal pets for over 3k per shot, fully heal a pet in 3 hits, not too bad and very useful when hunting krayt dragons it seems.

I'm MCH and ive done both MRM and TKM as my 2nd skillset and they are both very effective and fun. The only problem with being TKM (which i am atm) is that you have no real use for the creatures in combat because you are so effective on yer own. Now mind you i still use em cuz i love my creatures but its only cuz im a diehard CH. In this regard MRM is more fun and exciting because you really NEED your pets and you work as a team. So it just depends on what ya want. Low risk or more fun.

I used to be MCH/MSwords with bits of TKA and Medic stacked on it and also found I was calling pets for no real benefit.
So I would say go for Rifleman or Pistoleer for a more usefull combination. That said I absolutely love TKA so I don't think you can loose going that route either !
