Its possible to do so but the pet would need near constant healing from someonewith strong healing skills and from someone with good pet stimpacks. I've done it myself but only witht he aid of one of my wife's doctor or combat medic characters.
As for what pet to use, anything with light armor and kinetic resistance over 40%.

not really, two bio cats, with 60% kenetic lite armor, 11000 ham, wallach does this. send one in, let it tank while you rifle the heck out of the krayt, send the other in while that one is working, call the damaged one back and heal with medic 4340 skills and stim e's, 3k per heal when hused with pet stims.
work them in that order, it is one of the few true skills that can be developed in this game.

You could also tame a "Wild Composite TKM". These are found most often on Dantooine scouring high paying missions on the outskirts of many outposts.
Make sure you mask scent, put on your ch taming cloths, and beat it over the head repeatidly with a large blunt object.
It may take a while to teach its commands, but i find these work best against krayt dragons

yes, i am speed capped, and you need a 4340 medic AT LEAST to have any hope of using the cats.
pet stims are nice, they are slow though. I can heal for 3k per shot wiht 4340 medic.

naw tame a swordman they are better cause they'll help you kill it... all a TK does ruin his armor...

i tried taming a TKM but it didn't go over well. first attempt it got confused so i got another attempt, the second try it aggroed me. it didn't attack but the repeated sounds it made almost makes it sound intelligent (it was trying to mimick galactic basic speech, quite impressive). this might be the hardest tame in the game, but the reward would be great.
i used a BE'ed razor cat to tank one once. light armor, 44% kinetic resist and 11K ham. only lasted a few minutes, i couldn't keep up with the damage with my pet stims and stim b's. i didn't even get a chance to fire my rifle once, it was constant stims to keep that poor cat standing

Actually one way to boost your pets ability to take a beating is to get Doctor buffs. All pets seem to have substats of 40 (con, str, quick, stam). I noticed when I buffed a friends Hanadak Rocksmasher that his health would regenerate very fast and wasn't in need of constant healing. However, this was not against a Krayt but much smaller game, but there was a difference before and after the buffs. Only problem is that if you store your pet, they lose their buffs.

I used a Giant Worrt which was amusing. I tried a Dewback and it ran off
Shame I'm dropping CH for now, had some good fun!
