Thread: Can I have fun as a CH without being a BE as well?
You can be a CH without BE, just as one can be a rifleman or swordsman without being a weaponsmith.
One of my accounts is an MBE/Chef. He's done a couple of things since the CU hit the servers with critter creation.
Mind you, this is all using existing, pre CU DNA.
He's created alevel 36 sharnaff, using DNA from gnarled rancor, hermit spider queen, torton, and docile kahmurra to create a critter with nearly 9000 health. Specials and resists are still displayed on the critter, but since MCH Tazz had to delete something to train a mount for another player, the 'naff never grew to full size and got tested in combat.
He's created a bantha, using a DNA template based on voritor dashers, some yard trash level critters, and a bagaraset (to get an intim special) to create a level 8 creature with over 4k health. Prior to the CU, this template reliably produced a level 10 creature, with an intim special and over 4k health. Now, of course, the specials are supposed to be gone, but in what combat I've participated in using my gurreck, I had groupmates who may have been placing intim states on targets, not the gurreck. I only recently discovered the verbose combat spam option and have activated that to get detail on what is happening.
One thing he has NOT done is go out and sample critter DNA since the CU, so no idea what he can do with post-CU material yet. Once the preexisting supply of DNA has been used, if he's still active (as previously announced, I'm not renewing any of my accounts due to the CU) he'll go out and sample and see what will happen.
I suggest you check out the BE forum and see what the BEs are talking about. They've already modified the standard voritor dasher based level 10 template to adapt to the new reality.
