After a month of searching I finally found a Mire Marauder on talus and he was not tamable.

I was very disappointed to find he was not one of the elite creatures of the game though he continues to be a stalker. However I was able to walk right up to thebeast and he didnt aggro on me showing that creatures are not appropriately reacting to their level of ferocity.

He is CL 53 you are CL 80 that means he is grey to you and will not attack.

Unless they changed the AI with Publish 20, grey-con stalkers will attack once they get on top of you. Maskscent will stop stalking, however, so once that is truly fixed I recommend using it to avoid unnecessary aggro.

Actually I have done similar things to Naboo Maulers back before CU when there was no "level". I would seek out those IMP scanning parties then go find a nearby nest of maulers. I would whack a mauler then run for the stormtroopers. Since even though I am netural I keep good faction with both sides the stormies would jump to my rescue. All 10 of them usually. After the great nerf and/or some of the bugs in CH it was more effective than calling my pets.

I actually find hat things that normally wouldn't attack me (gray con) tend to break mask and instantly take to tearing me apart. If I don't mask, then nothing happens, as intended. Mask scent for me is a liability.

I found years ago that mask scent that CH gets thru scouting was an aggro magnet on adventure planets. Other than to get scout XP I haven't used it in years

This is a known issue.

It's also true that grey con aggros WILL attack you if you get right on top of them, or they get right on top of you. Again last night the same other player had a gaping spider stalk him and move right on to him and then attack. It was fairly trival to take it down, with the level multipliers in effect (utterly ridiculous, but an integral part of the accursed level system) which is futher evidence of the diluting of the game.

Yes, right now maskscent is a liability. One of the Publish 21 changes is that grey-cons won't break it and it no longer auto-aggroes whatever breaks it. (Thankfully. I've been pushing for this one for ages.)

Yup, this is true. Won't attack, but MAY stalk.

Last night on Dath, I was partnered with a level 80 Master Rifleman/Master Rangerlooking for sith goons to kill for waypoints and frequencies for the "capture the sith commander" FS quest, and he was stalked by level 69 gaping spiders. Who followed usright up to where I sent in my gaping spider hunter to pull a sith shadow outlaw, who ran toward us and used AOE an attack (as they are wont to do), thereby enlisting our stalkers to assist us.
