Thread: A new use for mounts, but might be frowned upon...

So I am reading through the Star Wars Databank of creatures. Here is the listing for Dewback.
"Found on the desert planet Tatooine, dewbacks are large lizards used by the locals as mounts and beasts of burden. These flat-toothed creatures can be found hauling goods for merchants or moisture farmers, pulling Podracer parts to starting grids, or serving stormtrooper patrols assigned to the planet's Imperial garrison. A dewback is able to withstand the heat and dust that often leads to mechanical breakdown in modern high-tech conveyances."
So I thought, hey maybe that could be an alternate use for mounts? On Tatooine atleast. The general idea would be...
When a duststorm starts up while you're on your bike on Tatooine, it starts taking damage. The sand would be like a DOT on the healt of the bike. It would add a bit of roleplay and it would shake things up a bit, making travelon Tatooine a little more strategic and, I think, exciting.
Tatooine, more so that most planets, is supposed to have this primitive/techno feel to it, as is the entire Star Wars universe. This would be a pretty drastic change, but it would be one way to make mounts more valuable in certain situations.
What do you all think?...
(PS. Of course all mounts would be able to withstand the enviroment, not just dewbacks. )

well, even though this is the kind of idea that appeals to dev logic, i don't believe we should start after ways to boost us by inconveniencing other people.

Personally I like it from an RP and pro-CH perspective.
Us 'mere' CH's might not get frowned upon as much while we trundle past the posse of broken AV21's on our much slower (but more fun) mounts.

It's a smart, logical idea, but will never be implemented because:
1) People will **edit** because they haven't had to put up with it until now. You can give and give, but once you take away people forgot you gave.
2) It's just one of those nice small ideas the devs either never hear or completely ignore.
That said, it's a good way to encourage the use of mounts.
