Hi I dont post new threads very often so here goes
I am now able to go to the village and do this new evil system of becoming jedi (not really my aim but im doing it for Ch perks). Apparently you trade in your exsisting xp to go towards force xp (force combat, reflex, whatever).
Now this is what bugged me when I was doing my trade in stuff, You cant trade in CH xp to get force combat xp. But you can trade in your xp to go towards heightened senses (includes trees: healing, surveying, persuasion, and luck) which is kinda useless. Along with this you can trade in scout, surveying and other forms of NON COMBAT xp towards a non combat tree.
But my main point here is that CH , unfortunatly, isnt considered a true combat prof? This event above shows the developers thoughts towards CHs place in the game.
Was CH always intended to be a "support class"?
Thanks for reading (sorry if I made any offensive mistakes

Here we go again. Whether or not CH is a true combat profession has been hotly debated a few times. I've always argued that it is - logically, CH is a combat profession. The Devs originally intended it to be. Many people disagree.
(To save time, so we don't have to rehash it all again, just pretend werepeated everythingsaid inthis thread
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=creature_handler&message.id=186551&highlight=one+more+time+ch+is+true+combat+profession#M186551
Well, I guess seeing as how we can't exchange CH xp for combat xp kind of answers the question of how the Devs now view CH
But this is precisely why I've argued that CH should be viewed as a combat profession, so that the Devs would treat us as such.
Vert, you can add this to Issue/Request List Housekeeping thread
In fact, I'll go over there and add it myself.

this got me too, i naturaly assumed that my scout xp (and thusly my CH xp) could be spent on the FS survival tree, which is just a boost to all scout skills. this isnt the case as its combat skills that does this. my scout xp cant be used to make me a better scout, but my combat can. beg pardon?
so what can my scout xp get me, better healing, better surveying, better 'luck' and better persuasion...whatever that is. but not scout skills. this still isnt really sinking in and im sure theres something that immissing....

The Dev's have always been combat centric. They are still morning the killing of the GCW. Their idea of content was a bunch of 12 year olds trying to prove they were the toughest. Now, it has shifted to trying to prove they are the richest. lol I want to know why, if we are not a combat profession, the primary method for leveling a CH is combat. Yes, you can tame/train and release but it would take you forever and you would be poor as a church mouse. This means you could not pay 100k for armor you would have to chase yard trash. Since you are tame/train only now weapons allowed.

Considering Scouting xp cannot be used to buy the Survival line which is all Scout skills, I wouldn't let it bother you too much.
CH is a combat profession, it's just not a clone of the marksman/melee professions.

honestly this makes sence in a way... the only exp needed to get to CH is scouting exp...
but maybe we can use this to get a boost in the exp gained for useing your pets... its probably the slowest way to get this type of exp... i could mask scent and run around dath for 5 mins and get 20x as much exp as for killing things with out pets....
