i planned on forgeting CHer and focusing on another class that would better support by BHing and pvp but... i just can't do it. it seems i have become attached to my pets and the thought of not summoning and hunting withthem kind of made me sad. so i guess i'll just have to be a gimp BHer and try to find some other class to dabble in to help... i think it was the fact i named them, that's what did me in

And he sits there growling over and over with the aggro/ attack icon blinking red...

I could never leave the CH profession, its bad but nothing anywhere compares to the CH in SWG.

I miss my pets, my slobbering yet faithful protector named Cuddles the Rancor.

The SPCA said they won't sue for killing virtual animals...

Yup, I feel your pain.

From a powergaming perspective, CH is worthless. If you intend to be 'uber', stay away from CH. There was a time that this was not true, and CH paid the price in the Great Nerf for being a mostly working elite profession.

PvP? Forget it. The devs make CH weak in PvP intentionally. The "Pokemon Galaxies" thing really hit themhard. Furthermore, they hate roleplayers, and CHs tend to be roleplayers. They cater to powergamers almost exclusively now; that's what the CU was all about, marginalizing every non-powergamer attractive profession. Jedi are the ultimate powergamer prize; so Jedi get all the breaks.

But there is something about the critters. They grow on you. They become friends. I've said before that I'm irrationally attached to my pets, and it's true. I die a little bit every time one of them takes a vitality hit, and I'd rather suffer wounds and decay than have one of my pets take a vit hit.

Couldn't have said it better myself.... My pets have always been there for me (at least before the CU) - damn hate system- I use my pets to roleplay.. I make sure I use my pets when doing important missions.. even if they dont make the difference... just so i can experiance it with my pets and have my memorys never disapear... Ch isn't just A profession... It's THE profession and to those who are dedicated and love it no matter how hard they get waled in the head by the nerf bat, are the ones who are the true gamers.

Wow! So I'm not the only one who feels that way? Wow!

Yeah, I've toyed with giving up CH too, and it is too hard. I like my pets. It annoys me that 4 of them are not callable now (one literally not, the other 3 I am just afraid what the conversion will do to them) but I have a bunch of others that I like. My Kwi is like a buddy... as are a couple of the others. It would be very, very difficult to give CH up. I have toyed with the idea... but every time I come to trying it, like Bilbo trying to give away the One Ring, I just... can't.

I don't want to be uber... so I don't care about that element of it... and I never PVP, so I couldn't care less if we sucked in PVP (which we apparently do... but again I wouldn't know because I never do it myself). I do wish my pets weren't bugged to all hell though...
