Creature Handler Archive
Thread: So I said to the arachne widow (baby) dont be scared
To respond to the Bio engineer
Its a matter of pride why creature handlers go after the rare pets and the difficulty in getting them is what makes them cherished pets. What great taming story do u have for bio engineered pet 312 that you have made.
You are right that Bio pets can be made with up to 60% kinetic and have a aracne queen clone made in an angler body I use all the time. For pvp I use solely bio pets because they can be one day remade. Kimo's are also a bio engineer only creation where I am proud to have a cl 68 and cl 66 with 570 dmg.
Dont rag on a ch for going out and finding a hard to find creature simply because you think they are not as high of quality. Lets see you make a bio engineered pet with an area poison attack that the widow has.
Congrats on finding your first widow baby. I have 2 and they are very good pets.

I wasn't mocking him for taking the time to seek a wild pet. I was just wondering why he is against useing BE pets. I myself am a MCH and understand the prestige of having a sought after pet. I spent several weeks after the big Armor nerf looking for the best pets. After those weeks, the best I had found was a TMB, DMA, and a measly arachnae warrior. No bull rancors, no widows, nothing that good. So I gave up hope and turned to BE pets.
Sure area poison is nice, but I would rather have nice resists and other specials such as KD/Dizzy combo. I say again, congrats on your tame. Maybe one day I will look for one since they are confirmed to be tameable.

good story, too few of those are heard these days
and im with you as one of the very few "non-bioengineer CH's." I only have one, its a kliknik with 60 kinetic and 12.5k ham and of course light armor. I got it cause i always said thats what the kliknik queen's stats should be, so its kind of a sentimental pet, especially since its been there with me for every rare ive fought for so i'll keep feeding him and give him a home for now. however once i get my bull rancor i will release it on his home planet Yavin.
as for my bull rancor hunt, no i still dont have one. yes i am getting upset that i havent even seen one in 312 lairs and 3 months. and with each shout i make in coronet or on dathomir, i get a fake find.
to put it simply: just give me the baby...i mean for cryin out loud...
I have quite a few real pets in the pad growing all tamed by me, very proud of all of them, BUT and a big BUT nearly all my exp that havegotten so afar iswith a BE pet. Its handy to have a lowish pet for groups, that will pull in the max exp im likly to get and also be able to do a good job. He is great last time i was in trouble he tanked 3 sharnaffs while i was incapped and saved his own butt - by running like crazy till they lost aggro and then ran all the way back to be healed with out a single command from me. He is a level 20 BE kwi with 45% kinetic. Ideal for exp groups, he gets me high exp from being low level while being tough enough to actually tank a bit in an emergency, cant praise him high enough. He is not exotic or rare or highly prized but does a good job.
"...although i do have some taming clothes, +25 pants, +25 hat, +17 jacket, +17 shirt, oh and the +9.4 almond munchies..."
As I understand it, the maximum bonus from clothing for a single skillmod is +25, even though your skills window shows you as having more (display bug).

That is correct. The max bonus any BE tissue can give a player is +25.
Got to say it gave me a chuckle when I saw all the taming clothes he was wearing ![]()
As far as BE pets, when I was a MCH (back in the day) I never had a BE pet even though I was/am a MBE LoL
To me, IMHO, BE pets "feel" kinda empty. Nothing more then mathematical stats binded to some creature "skin"... Don't get me wrong, that is essentially what all creatures/NPC/Players are but at least when it is "wild" you can kinda roleplay it and pretend it is a "real" SWG creature.... kinda hard to do when you have a BE bunny with a AR1 value with 60% kinetic, 40% energy, 80% heat/electricity/acid (standard BMB dna clone).
