My pet ate my spice when I fed him. I didn't have any food so I can't blame him for eating my spice, but it didn't heal his wounds, so I was disappointed.
Was this a bug or do I need to be careful about feeding pets when carrying spice?

Yeah, just be careful feeding your pet when you have other foods and spices in your inventory.

Yeah, the darn critters will eat anything.
Feed them bofa treats, even the carnivores. Put your food and spice in a cargo pocket or satchel in your main inventory, or better yet, in the backpack. The critters are "fed" out of the main inventory only, and will eat the first edible thing found, top to bottom, left to right.
