Go TKM. Meditation is good thing. And you've already got the 4xxx in brawler to start it off.

Hit peace before you start taming. You will have the peace symbol next to your name (next to the mask scent symbol), and you won't attack back. This is keeps you from killing babies you are trying to tame and also keeps any adults in the area from jumping in to defend the baby. You can then just run away until the baby stops attacking and then try to tame again.

Meditation is great but watch out - if you are being attacked by too many creatures they will overwhelm you and take too long for you to kill them meaning almost certain death if that disease or poison ticks hard enough.
