Currently you cannot do any specials on top of a mount, this wont be a dire problem though in the combat balance, as I understand it will not be a matter of specials spamming anymore and default attacks will come back as an actual attack rithme.
Now what if we provided the ability to use specials from ontop of a mount, BUT there are fair chances of you being knocked off one by hard hitting shots etc. If your creature was hit with a devastating blow onto the legs, theres a chance he tumbles over and you get thrown off?
Bringing in those negatives but providing some positives, would this be a correct balance to go about?
Please think about this

My big concern is whether just allowing special attacks and profession abilities (like healing) from the back of a mount is enough. Particularly if we're talking about a CH with a CL 50-70 Bio-Engineered dewback... there needs to be a reason not to dismount and fight alongside the pet instead.
Allowing specials and allowing the mount itself to attack would be a good start. But wouldn't it take more for this to be a real tactical advantage? Perhaps bonuses to combat mods, some form of Area of Effect trample damage, shared HAM between mount and rider, or increased resistance to status effects (like Dizzy and Stun)?

I agree, as brought out in other threads mounted combat has been around a long time. Both mount and rider
working as a team. Some SHARED benefit would be a huge benefit. Shares HAM would be nice. Resistence to some stat effects would be nice as well maybe with a modifier considering the lvl of pet and lvl of Handler?

offcourse there has to be a fair balance in advantages or everyone and their dog will get pets and fight with them...

We should tier it according to lvl. Anyone can have a lvl 10 mount, but that pet just would not be as effective as a lvl 20 mount. Also tier it to the lvl of the rider. Creature Handlers should get bonus', especially at Master.
Make "Mounted Combat" trainable only at Master lvl. And I think you should have to be a Master or at least High lvl to use any specials while mounted. But give some kind of bonus to any master lvl proff.
Maybe???

Keep the ideas coming. With the combat balance it should be essential that creature handlers have an incentive to mount their creatures while doing combat. Offcourse keeping in mind that it will not become a FOTM craze as before

Theres one attack ide like for a rider to have when mounted.
/Ramming With speed of galloping power your mount rushes to the target selected to ram and knock him down. highly effective against npc's, much harder or impossible with creatures larger themselves
