Ok this is a pretty dumb question so I apologize... I tried to look around for it... but...

A simple Yes or no.

When you give the command for a pet to use its special is there a HAM cost on you?

Thanks.

I haven't seen a HAM cost to me when I issue the command.

The specials...seem to work. The ranged attacks...definitely do NOT seem to work.

I've issued special commands to launch attacks, and they've actually happened. They don't show up in the combat spam, though....you have to watch the +stun attack+ or +posture down attack+ indication over the pet as it executes.

No HAM costs to you. . . but

In over 50 engagements, starting the combat with thecommand for special, my screecher has actually hit with plague for only 3x. . . if that's working then this sucks . . .My guess is that he would probably land about that many or maybe morewithout any help from me. . . It has NEVER hit after combat starts. . .that's after spamming the command all through many engagements.

I know when it hits cuz you get the great little plague head on the target's readout. . . once again what we were promised fails to materialize . . .

same thing with any of my pets with specials. . . oh well, why am I surprised? thanks for the stealth nerf to my frenzied too btw. . .75 kinetic down to 65 now. . .

Using pet specials does not have a HAM cost for you. I never had any luck getting them to work at all till I did some research and found that you may need to put a "follow other" or "follow me" command in just before you give a special attack command. So now, my special attack macros look like:

/tellpet follow;
/tellpet special1;

Now, when I hit the button for that macro, my creature will attempt a special on their next attack, and then go back to regular attacks. Your creature may or may not actually roll to hit, so you may have to hit it more than once, but you should see a "+Dizzy Attack+" or whatever pop up over their head every time. However, it seems to me that the devs decided that some of the specials are too powerful to be used on-demand, and you cannot order your pet to do them. So far, I have never been able to force my creatures to do Knockdown, Poison, or Disease, and I imagine there are other "off limits" commands.

Hope this helps!

I just started playing again after a 6 month break. To my amazement my master Ch has been nerfed into a fairly weak state. I am too attached to the CH class to scrap him. Soooooo... I started thinking about how I can use the current state of affairs to my advantage.

1.) Melee seems to be fairly powerfull these days.

2.) Combine CH with a melee class.

3.) Against other melee the pets become a DOT.

4.) That brings up shooters.... Hmmmm....

Here are my questions...

Can bio engineered pets be made with specific specials to complement the class you are playing? Example... As a melee it would be nice to have a pet that has a posture down attack and a dizzy. 3 of these sent after a shooter should effectively keep the kiting in check. Picture 3 fast cats running a shooter down and doing posture down and dizzy attacks while a melee closes in for the kill.Against a melee Stun and dizzy could be used for devastating effect. With 3 pets engaged the numbers should be in your favor as far as getting a special to stick.I am assuming that the pet specials do work. If what I am suggesting does work it would go along way towards making the class more viable and combat effective.

Any response and or suggestions is appreciated.

Ok, do you have to train the pets specials in order, like if you have a lvl 2 special do you have to train the level 1 first and then train the lvl 2?

My other question. Is lets say you have a lvl 1 special trainedand you want to train the level 2 same ability, does it cost you another slot or just upgrade the existing one?
