i am MCH/MBH/ CM 2000. my heals are high and i love that i have a choice of 3 heals, the ranged heal is great if a pet is far off, and if i need lots of heals, they're on 3 different timers. for me that works better than the root from pistol would, but i don't tend to solo things like krayts, for that i get a group. i was master pistoleer preCU on another toon, and kept it for a while postCU but ended up dropping it, partly because that root is really nice when it sticks, but when it doesn't it has a heck of a long timer on it.
medic 0020 which you mentioned gets you+10 healing efficiency mods, but you still have only bactashot to use. you might want to try medic 0200, which would give you a ranged heal that's ona seperate timer,and use a healing efficiency BE shirt and/or medical droid for the modifiers.

I respecced to MCH/MBH with Pistols and Medic but will definitely think about trying out the CM idea... I really hated to drop TKA, because I loved it pre-CU but I can't stand what it has become - meh!
