This happens to all pets under CL 10. The devs have some strange method for calculating current CL. They round down the CL for the current age, so as a newborn who's adult level is 9, the CL SHOULD be .9. But they can't do decimals, so they round it down to 0. Now here's the dumb part:instead of calculating what the current value should be, they just add another baby CL to the CL each growth spurt, up until adult, at which point the correct value will be shown. So if you add 0 to 0, you get 0. It works similarly for a CL 19 pet, when it's a baby it will be CL 1 and it will go up 1 CL each spurt, but after it reaches CL 9, it will jump to CL 19.

I am a new CH. I went out on my first day as a CH and tamed everything I could find. I tamed the following, in order:
Womp Rat
Rock Beatle (i think - stone maybe)
Durni (???? I totally forget the name of the thing)
Dwarf Nuna (that are SOOO cute!)
Wort
Not exactly sure on all the names, but there were definately 5 in my datapad at the end of my running around Tat. All creatures were 0/10, except one or two were 0/8 (I think). The Womp Rat was 1/10. Only one of the 5 was lured out of a lair by me messing with it, the rest were 'pre-spawned' for me to tame.
I used only the Womp Rat, as its stats were the best by far (too good, it seems - it started out as something like 150/900 HAM at 1/10). Even though it was the only one I used, I made a point of calling each one and using it for a kill or two, twice a day, to keep them all growing.
None of my pets are growing except the first one that made my datapad, the Womp Rat. It is now 8/10 with 700+ HAM and ALL of my other pets are still at 0/10, except their stats seem to be going up, unless I am insane.
