You may learnt a bunch of things that day, mate I hope you got better luck next time.

pd: may help... if you get disconnected and want to see how much buff time you haveleft, you can make a good guess by scrolling up the "combat chat window" and locating the momment when the doc buffed your stats. Since you may know how long will they last (it's a good thing to check buffs power and duration after applying), you can know make your plans knowing almost exactly when they will fade.

I used to get the "Connection Lost" error all the time when I first started playing Galaxies. It was especially a b!tch when in combat. I updated the firmware on my router, and I haven't lost my connection since. Might want to give that a try if it's an option.

Great story, by the way.

This year, I had so many holidays left, that I decided to take off all mondays in november and december. I made a deal with my gf that i would spend them in a sensible way, so I made mondaymy official rare-pet hunting day ... at least that was sensible to me

I started off with a trip to Moenia, Naboo ...... looking for a swamp-stalker ...... the stats on this animal aren't particularly great, but it's just a beauty. I used my fool-proof tactic of making circles around a centerpoint (usuallya city), and increase the radius with 200. When reaching the 1800 Meter circle, I still hadn't seen anything, not just no swamp-stalkers, really almost nothing!!! I did come across a ploding falumpaset lair though, which i emptied because i remembered viscen's post about finding a baby .... but my lair was empty ...

Ok, this wasn't going anywhere, so i decided to try my luck on Dathomir........pulled out my gaping spider and gaping spider recluse (they add up to L70) , and a combat droid.....and started pulling bull-rancor missions ...... been doing those until my buffs ran out (was buffed cos i also still need to kill some outlaws and pirates ) ....

After many rancor and spider lairs, it was time to go screecher hunting again ......went off to Endor, and this time i decided to speed things up, and do the screecher missions (i usually go out to find wild spawns). First thing i noticed is that a mission is always only 6 screechers, while in wild ones i've seen up to over 20 in one lair !!!

While i was driving around, i came across the deatwatch and superbattledroid dudes......and i could'nt resist .... ikilled of a DW ghost, and then pulled out the widow to take on one of the 140K ham guys .... i was doing alright, had no real problems keeping me and the widow alive (i wouldn't pull the widow if i wasn't sure of that), and slowly I was braking him ......when I had him down to only 1K left, he warped right in the middle of other DW'rs and Battledroids .... i was really furious that happened again ..... i ran up to him, and started to finish him off, while meanwhile the others started chopping pieces out of me .....my victim was down to only 200 ..... i was gonne make it .... i was convinced ... but then it happened again .... "Connection to SWG lost" !!!!!!!!!!! I cursed so loud, I must have scared the neighbours

Ok, quickly opened taskmanager, killed the SWG proces (fastest way to stop SWG ) , and logged in again ....... to find myself in the cloning center, and the widow incapped .... damn.....

Back to screecher hunting then ......took some screecher missions, and started fighting them again......i'm impressed by the disease they have, man do they hurt ...... and on one of the missions, it happened again ...... a screecher diseased me ...."Connection to SWG lost" !! %#$$#@$#@$#$# ..... and it is not my internet connection, as all other programs continued to work fine ......logged in again, to find myself with 999 wounds on 2 stats !!!!!!

At this point i was already looking for the cancel account button ...... the warping .... the bugs ..... the connection lost..... the lag .... it's becoming too much for me ......

Because of the crash, you can't see how long your buffs last, and i knew they would run out shortly, so i decided to travel back to Corellia, to check on the GPS areas .....again without seeing any ofcourse.....To get rid off my frustrations, i emptied out the nyax base, with lord nyax himself this time (first time i ever saw him there) ..... not one loot ....

All in all, a terrible, unfortunateand waisted day .... the only thing i got out of it, where 2 webmasters .....if anyone on farstar wants one, just contact me ....

Better luck next monday ...... if i'm still paying for my account then ....

Nice info.

I'd suggest that some planets are much more likely to give you a kick in the butt due to connection probs. I personally hate travelling to Dantooine (so much content in that planet! what's left for Rori, Talus...) since lags is awful, pets disappear and I get connection lost only there.

Ok .... i figured out what causes the connection losses......it's some kind of a bufferoverflow....

I have several combat macros, attached to hotkeys ....some for normal combat, and one for my pets ...... my fight macro puts 10 combat commands in the combat queue .... if i hit the hotkey too often during a fight, swg can't handle it (the traffic), and gives me a "swg lost connection" ....

I verified this a few times, and i can replicate it :/ ......
