It has begun... at least on lowca. The new changes to the mission payouts has created countless new novice CH's on my server. I saw more novice CH's this past weekend then I have seen combined over the past year, and that's no joke. I was contacted by many MANY new novice CH's asking for all the basics (how to name/feed/mount). This continued all weekend long. Crazy days are ahead for us.
I have mixed feeling about this I guess. I love seeing my favorite profession prosper but I hate the reason for the growth (ie; more cash for missions). I'm trying to be optimistic and I hope that some of the new novice CH's will actually explore and enjoy this great profession and not just exploit it. *Fingers crossed*
Only time will tell.

Hmmm. You know i did notice that this weekend on Gorath as well. I saw 2 guys in Coronet comparing there anglers on who's was nicer. Both were BE and not that great. Lol, I thought about pulling my widow out....but I decided to let them have there fun.
I haven't had my CH tag on for awhile now. Ppl kept demanding I GIVE them a mount right that minute. I agree though. It's sad to see my favorite profession be taken advantage of.
Not to get off the subject, but this reminds me of one night I got angry at a couple of my guildies. They were incapping there mounts to get medic xp.
I told them I was gonna rip there arms off wookiee style if I saw them doing it again.

Tell me about, thats why i stoped wearing MCH a loong time ago... GIVE ME GIVE ME GIVE ME!! is all i heard. I thought they got rid of teh pet healing medic xp exploit a long time ago. But your right for now the new ch's we see seem to be in it for the payout. Once they realise that they are not able to dable too much with all the skill pts in ch they will find more efficient ways to get btter mission payouts.

I can tell you as a new Novice Doctor on Ahazi, you don't get med xp for healing your pets. Otherwise,I would hasve just levelled through medic while doing Rifleman levelling. LOL!

I've seen quite a few new novices this last weekend on Bloodfin as well. And, like some of you, I got tired of the "Gimme a mount!" syndrome and no longer wear my MCH tag.

Yes, last weekend was really surprising on Bloodfin ... Have been waiting fora friend at the C'net starport and in about 15minutes i saw 4 Novice CHs. Thats more in a few minutes than the last few months
But let's hope they will see how fascinating this profession can be and will take the hard way to the Master

I kinda noticed this on Lowca as well and on Bria.
On Lowca I an a Master CH/Master Pistoleer with the Master Creature Handler tag up. People are always begging me for non-CH pets. Good thing I have a bunch of chuba and gnort trained with everything but the attack and group commands just for these kinds of people.
People there also seem to think that because I'm a Master Creature Handler, I therefore must be a Master Bio-engineer, despite the fact that my bio only shows the badges for the two porfessions I mastered. At least once every few days, some retarded yahoo will ask me what BE pets I have for sale, and when I tell him #1 I'm not a bio-engineer and #2 I don't use BE pets, they can get pretty rude because they have this impression of Creature Handler = Bio-engineer.
On Bria, I'm a Wookiee pikeman/chef, with the master artisan tag up, and people always ask me for pets because Wookiees have that taming bonus, and thus everyone assumes all Wookiees on Bria must be Creature Handlers or something. And occassionally I get people asking me for buffs as well (I have no medic at all). They get mad when I give them bofa treats as a "buff".

i agree...i wear my tag..and tell quite a few nch's "sorry no" during a gaming session..i also tell them to get thier own pets and they won't get xp bumming used pets in the starport...now if i did the "examine" on you and saw you were a player, i would be more helpful since i wouldn't have to "dumb down" my explanations to an experienced player...for the noobs, the best way to learn the game is to play the game, most of these "wannabe's" think it is a (small cat starting with "p") profession to master and will quickly give it up as they discover the work involved...if a noob is generally interested in collecting his own rares, i am more than happy to give him/her tips, wp's and reference material

If you deny a "service" of any kind to a novice CH you are not a bad person as long as you teach him how he/she can make it by her/his own. It's my opinion and I can be wrong, but I do really hate to see how the attitude of some NCH can hurt the path of some trully CH wannabe who are inmersed in all this "mission-payout" crap.

I started CH for the 3rd, and definitive time, about 10 days ago. Past times I was curious about some tactics (MBH/CH or Pistols/Smug/CH) but now I want to complete what was my first ever thougth about my life in SWG: A loner hunter.
I spent countless hour exploring my home land. The Moses and Bestine back 11 months ago where I get about 20k XP each day due to no buffs, crappy weapons, self developed tactics, no healings, no guildies... I was alone and sheldom I spoke to someone while I was visiting Bestine trainers (even getting 5k for training was an adventure! just because I didn't know other people could teach you
) or just browsing the bazar fora better DLT20.
Now After mastering several profs and collecting about 80+ badges I'm back to CH (4221 now) and Rifleman (Not even Novice now - swapping from TKM) with some medic. The bad thing is that many of you, my fellow elder Handlers, may think I'm at this business for the payout. But I'm sure I'm not as far as I have my own A-wing and, If you have JTL you can get 180k/hour by looting Tier 3 and 4 ship and selling loots to a chassis dealer.

I havent seen more CHon sunrunner, but it might have something to do with the patch not going through on it. is it really working on other servers? cus as far as i know on sunrunner the patch hasn't worked and mission payouts are the same. might be why it crashed....

I dont get bugged so much for free mounts, but I do get frequent tells from people asking me to train their BE mounts which I always do for no charge. Gotta give the CH's a good name
