Thread: Little help?

So I was out killing Jantas with my trusty mountain krevol the other day, and my mountain krevol "fell over." I've seen him get knocked down before, but, in those cases, he gets up again at some point in time. Instead, he just lays there. I got rid of the rest of the Jantas myself and waited for a while to see if he'd get up. No such luck.

I tried using a few commands in an attempt to get him to follow me, do a trick, even store himself in my datapad. No luck. He continues to just lie there.

So, as I had no other idea as to what to do, I left my poor bug lying in the middle of Dantooine and went home for the evening. I was hoping that, after logging for a bit and maybe a server reset, my pet would be safe and sound back in my datapad. A day later, and no such luck.

Now, when I go to my datapad, I can see my pet, but bringing up the radial menu gives me the command to store him, not call him, as if he's still out.

Granted, I don't know much about pet ownership, but what's going on? Is there any way for me to get my bug back?

Thanks.

Thats strange. I'd try hitting the store twice in a row. I frequently have a problem with my pets where they won't become callable until I've hit store twice. I'd also heck on his vitality. It amy be time to hit your neighborhood BE and buy a good vitality-B/C pack.

Ok, so here's where I plead ignorance (and assume we found the problem). What the heck is vitatlity on a pet? I've never used a vitality pack on him before, nor do I know what one is.

And how can I check his vitality? Does it appear in the details in the datapad? Perhaps I've just never looked close enough before.

Your pet's vitality can be viewed in the datapad when you highlight the pet in question. generally, anythign below 70 is considered bad. As to what a vitality pack is, it is a pack, much like a stim or a wound pack, but designed to bring the vitality of a pet back up after it has dropped.

I had a question about Jedi Toughness. Does it go away when I snatch out my lightsaber?

Hi guys,

Issue 1

I was hoping to get a little feedback on my template here.

My current plan is MR (of course) and MCH (such fun!). The leftover points I would like to dump into medic to the tune of 3-0-4-4. I like this idea because I can make my own C's and use D's or even experimented E's to heal my pets and myself. However to make this template work I have to give up the entire ranged support line in marksman including the posture change which people rave about combining with dizzy. I would also be giving up the aiming bonuses and the ranged defense bonuses. With 10K critters tanking for me, would that matter? Do you all think I am going to miss out on too much if I do this?

I am not PVP oriented right now at all- still learning the game, and am definintely doing MCH and MRM as I like the "feel" to the build.

Issue 2

Armor.

Should I or shouldn't I? I have found that with no armor and a migration of stats from all the secondary/tertiary health action pools to mind and support pools, one slug of brandy keeps me going strong. I shied away from armor because of the encumberance. Is this a mistake? I was wearing a few pieces of ubese initially and had a cripplingly slow mind regen so I switched to clothes and sold the armor. Then I discovered brandy and wonder if this will make the difference that i need?

As always, thanks for your help guys and gals!

Once you hit Master Rifleman the ranged support line is of very limited use. Your accuracy is good enough that you don't need to use /Aim. Also the ranged defense bonus are minimal from this line.

Since you have a pet tank you shouldn't have to worry to much about /WarningShot or /ThreatenShot.

I'd say dump it.

With buffs the encumberance on armor is negated. I can wear a complete set of armor while fully buffed and throw out specials with impunity.

Also get your armor sliced. They may get an encumberance slice which will also reduce the encumberance costs.

Whether to wear armor or not really depends on what you are going to be hunting and how often they ignore your pet and go for you. If hunting on the higher end adventure planets such as Dathomir and taking on NS or Rancors you may want to wear it.

However if you are getting buffed there is no reason not to wear it.

As always, thanks for your help guys and gals!

Thanks Waste!

I was for the most part committed to the idea but you made me feel better about dropping the ranged support line. The fun of watching npc's fall all over their dizzy drunken selves can still be had by getting pets with crippling attack I am told.

My only problem now is that I am constantly broke. I have dabbled in resource sales (IV surveying for now) with some very modest success and even pimped myself out as a tumbler over night for 11k in credits. It boggles my mind tosee people spending 6 mill. on rifles and all. Where does this money come from????

I bought a sunguard hat last night with _all_ of my money that had +25 critter taming on it. Turns out I can't wear it---Twileks can wear the same armor helmet as a human but I can't strap this pizza pan to my head? Doesn't make sense.

I've been stable at about 4mil last 6 months or so. I've done a few things to help keep my money stable.

Since you have scout skills make sure you harvest. If you find something with good stats then sell it. I know some meat/hides go for 30-70 cpu on my server. Depends on the stats. The other thing I did was harvest meat and give it to a Chef in return for free foods. I got a crate of Brandy that would have retailed for about 250k or more.

I also did some hunting in the Geo caves and looted some cubes that I sold to a WS. Another quick and easy 100k there.

But with your template I would suggest contact some Armorsmiths, Chefs, and Bio-Engineers to see if they need resources and go that route. Meat will probably be in the most demand since both Chefs and BE's use it. And for Chefs it's consumed and they need a constant supply.
