Hello tamers,

I have returned to the game after taking a huge break and I must say CH has changed a lot.

Firstly, grinding has gotten horrible although I´ve read the FAQ and followed the instructions. After three weeks I'm still only novice CH. Is the FAQ maybe outdated? Any suggestions? (Im lvl 26, my pets 12 (spineflap soldiers).

Thanks in advance.

what are you fighting? the more damage your pet does the closer it gets to max exp. the creature you attack must be around the same lvl of the creature unless your grouping with it. if you are grouping with it then the pet is boosted to your lvl. so you must fight stuff at your lvl. just keep tryin. i know somone who got master only a couple weeks ago while doing grinding missions in group. it only took him 2 weeks or so.

I f you are on bloodfin then I could get you to master in about 2 days.Other wise find a dancer to befriend and group with your pet. Then go kill all the cl 1-4 critters around the cities.

Aoccdrnig to a rcsheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy,it doesn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are,the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm.Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef but the wrod as a wlohe.Amzanig huh!

Ok this is probably a very noob thing to say at novice creature handler with none of the boxes filled in yet isn't grouping with your creature NOT an opiton. Don't you have to train up for it? I just got Novice Creature handler, the bottom box, and the best creature I have is a Cu Pa which is cl 10, my character is a cl26, so in order to get good Creature Handler xp I have to fight cl10 creatures and be sure only my creature is involved in the combat. If I fight anything close to my lvl I have to tank for my creature or it becomes kibble for what ever I'm fighting.

You mean you can have another creature handler teach commands to your pet even if you don't know that command? How does one go about doing this? Find a friendly Ch and then what? Ask group with them and have them teach the command?

Sorry for the noobishness of this, but I am a noob.

ask them nicely if they say yes, then just trade the pet to them . they will call pet, teach relevant commands and give it back

gotta choose. grind your weapons, or grind your pets. there's virtually no inbetween. the moment you help your pet by firing your weapon at the same enemy, you have cut the pets xp, and yours too. then the amount of CH xp you'll get is based on the percentage of damage your weapon caused as opposed to how much damage your pet caused. this usually ends up in you, the frustrated Novice CH, getting 1xp per kill for all eternity until you read this message! j/k hehe. but it's all true about the xp.

so basically find a good group, or, better yet, a good guild, that'll let you stand aside and watch your pet (and you) get mucho xp!!! i like to think of it as playing the coach role to your pet. you sit on the sidelines, calling the shots, but not actually playing in the game. that analogy kind of simplifies the whole process in a way.

Umm I think we get it..hehehe

as to the original question,a dn advice. I too am a MBH/MCH/CM4000 adn I work my pets all the time. its a slow procces, and I am not worried about CH xp, as I no longer need to worry about it, however i will say that by far teh best way to level CH/pets is to NOT GROUP with the animal. if you can mange it, get in a group with a anyone doing more damadge than your pet does. spin groups are a popular, though frustrating at times, way to do this. There is still some negitive feeling towrd CH, but in general its nto too bad, at least for me. Anyway if youcan offer other skills, like healing, or buffs or group buffing ( SL) or being aranger or what ever, you will have abetter chance of being alowed to stand by directing your pets. I tend to pull both higer level and low levels depending on what I need to do, adn simply wait to se who the tank is/who is getting beat down, and put them on guard. it seems to be broken 3/4 of the time, but this lets you worry about your other skills/ benifits to teh group, while ensureing htta your pets are at least near the action. I jsut stand near the tanks, and spam Bspray whiel telling pets to attack everything I can see. if I miss oen, hopefully it was agroed on the tanks, so maybe they got a hit in. it not mathmatics, but it seems to work.

In any case I woudl say the best way to get xp/lvl pets is to NOT GROUP with them and even UN-EQUIP your primamry weapon, or equip a weapon that does less damadge than your pets like a cdef/wood staff. I personally equip a blacksckale stun batton, which I have no hope of ussing effectively as I have no melee, but will still allow me to get that one hit in as I swtich weapons if I suddenly get agro.

I am MBH/MCH on ahazi server. the xp goes according to your level not ur pets. to gain the xp u want u must go with a group that will allow u to use only ur pet to attack. if u fire one shot then all ur xp goes to weapons for the most part.

if ur group does well then ur pet only has to hit each target once to get full xp for the kill.

Did MCH in about a week that way.
