Its just the fact that its bugged. What difference isa vitality of 99/99 from 100/100? None, but the fact that its there makes all the difference in the world.

you make it sound like it matters..i have 4 pets thet have a loss of 5 on min damage..a bull rancor, a prowling gurreck, a gurreck, and a gps..the max damage is still the same, and honestly pet damage is irrelevent anyhow, so i don't understand the dilemea...try doing around a thousand lairs, then see if you care if your bull has a minimun hit of 450 instead of 455 .., the max is still 620..it's meaningless really..mabey it matters in some way i'm not aware of, but i really don't see the problem..i've heard this called a "bug" but it appears to be coded into the game, mabey it had a wound and wasn't fed..there may be a reason, but don't get yourself tied up in a knot over it..the pet still hits just as hard for a mx, and the specials still work, and joker i know you are a rifleman, like me..so do you really count on your pets for any damage?

if i had a bull i wouldnt give a crap that its damage is down by 5. how often are you really gonna use it in combat that really matters? unless you want the chance of getting a vitality hit

i figured out why the min damage is off by 5 on some animals...if the adult min damage ends in a 5..such as the 455 for the bull or the 395 for the gps, when it is intially tamed the game rounds it down...i was looking at my second gps baby today and it is lvl 5 of 51, or 1/10th grown..the min damage is 39, or 1/10th of 395, rounded down..i imagine the freshly tamed baby bull, although i don't remember what mine said, was 45 , one tenth of 455 rounded down...i think this is the reason for this "bug" as people call it..it seems the numbers just round down, instead of fractional damage....

For the dorky CS response. Yeah, thats integer division which leaves off the fractional part. If they had done division with floats or doubles behind the scene and then cast to integers you would get the correct display when the creature finished growing. Yeah, I'm a dork.

The sad thing is I understood it. They really should change it from an int to a double type.
