Thread: Pets and Mobs dissappearing? Post your detailed info here...

getting real sick of this very old issue. pets, nightsisters,rancors, and whatever else poofing mid combat. maybe consolidating info to one thread can help? Try using the format i'm using below ....


( dont know if this was already done before. if so i appologize)

Planet (s) incident free:Lok, Yavin, Corellia (havent had an incident occur here that i can recall for a long while)


Planet (s) of Incidents: Dathomir ( occurs frequently/regularly) - I hunt mainly around the sarlacc, NS Stronghold, and Imp Prison when on dath.


Detail of Incident: during mid combat, with either single or multiple mobs, pets and mob dissappears. varies on which dissappears first. sometimes pets goes first. sometimes mob(s) will dissappear first before pet. varies on the number (if multiple) of mobs dissappears (varies from one to all). corpses can dissappears shortly after mob dies, before a loot/harvest attempt can be done.


pet ungroups....but is still 'called' as it needs to be stored before pet can appear again.


mobs are 'gone'. will not respawn unless a lair is present. external spawn count seems to contine if a lair is present and lair tap spawn can be initiated.


Bug Reported:Yes, multiple times.

See mutiple threads of autostore and autowarp bugs.

It seems this is not a priority to the devs.

uhh, I've never had this happen while in combat. And it was only a npc creature that I was taming. It only warped though, didn't disappear.

was taming and warped about 100 m away, happened a couple of times.

no, doesn't bother me much, hardly ever happens.

Ive noticed a new version of this (Very old) bug.


My pet will auto store itself. I will go into the datapad, and try 5-6 times to store it (Click on the store command and try to get the "Call" option to come up again) and the call option wont come back up. Every once in a while, the pet will respawn a short while later just behind me and follow me around, but it wont be using up any of my active CL. (I can still call 70CL of critters). If the pet respawns, I can select the pet by clicking on it, and then select the store option on the pet itself. Which seems to fix the situation. But only if the pet respawns. If the pet dosent respawn, I'm SOL till I relog.

Its happened to me multiple times.. most recent was on Dathomir about 300m NW of the Sarlacc pit. Had a level 60 BE Rancor out tankin for me. I was 60m out from an Enraged Bull Rancor. I sent him in to attack my target and get the rest of the EBRs to agro and engage him also. Plan was workin fine... 10 secs into combat he had 5 ERBs on his back and I started layin down ss2. 5 secs later after I hit everyone bout 5x my Rancor gets pulled off into never world leaving 5 very ticked off ERBs lookin at me like I'm lunch. Needless to say I packed up camp quik and took off... but I should have never been put into that situation.

I got one. Last night I come upon to enraged kimos fighting it out in front of my house. Normally I wouldnt even try one of those by myself. However, I start flaming them both while they chew on each other. When both get down to last bit of HAM they warp. Ok, I chase them down and proceed to finish them off. However, just before they drop....poof. There gone. Was really looking to looting and harvesting those two.

Same thing happened to me last night. Hunting voritor hunters.. pet go's poof and here they come.... Luckily killed the last one just before incap.

I have had my pets go POOF before. A recent thing happened with a pet getting stuck in the side of a cliff on Lok, thought that was amusing. He would not store. I had to go off world and call him back out to make sure he was ok. I had an Arachne warrior get stuck in combat with nothing. He was fighting a Reptilian Flier, the Reptilian Flier dropped, and he was still in combat with it somehow.

i thought this bug went away, but it seems to have come back recently, especially in certain specific areas

The pet dissapearing trick has happened several times with me as well. Seems to mainly happen on Dant to me at least. Call 1 of my 2 Kusak twins call the other and the first dissappears. Have to store from datapad and recall several time before i can have both out at the same time. Alright got my pets out have my weapon equipped and send them in to attack the bols and suddenly 1 or both are gone and I have to hightail it out of the area. Got fed up with it but finally mastered Pistoleer and it doesnt seem to happen as often anymmore. Just think what would happen if suddenly combat professions weapons went into their houses or docs buffing targets got changed. This is becoming a major problem for CH and needs to be fixed.

haven't had MUCH trouble with the dissapearing pets, but the mob poofing is predictable and repeatabe...


if in the battle you draw the mob away from it's original spawn point it will eventually poof back to that point and restore it's ham..this is especially true of larger game like kraytes and gdk's...i have repeated this numerous time hunting juvie krayts ..the goal being to draw it away from the canyon so as to loot the corpse...if the juvie gets too far away from the canyon, it will warp back to it, with restored health..essentially what happens is the juvie despawns, and respawns back at the original spawn point, so it's a new creature....i had gdk's do this too...while they aggro gurk mobs, the keep getting further away from the spawn point, if you draw them even further, they will despawn and respawn with new ham bars at the original point..kind of frustrating if you are solo and have almost killed it
