Thread: Proposal For CH Profession: Vertexon & Fellow CHs, Take a Peek
You state that there is no reason to use two level 35's. I know myself and a few others have stated that there is more use to use two level 35's. I am too lazy to look it up my beasts stats so we are going to play hypethicals.
Hypothetical Pet CL35.
10Kish HAM
Resists Kinetic 60%
Pick two specials.
Hypothetical Pet CL70.
15Kish HAM
Resists Kinetic 60%
Pick two specials.
Now this is the way I see it CL70 is double 35 so CL70 should be double the stats. It is not. So when I PvE I use two CL35 almost always. Why? Two mobs hitting even at half the damage of a CL70 pet will do about the same damage over time. To hit bonuses are not enough to change that. So even if my two CL35 do 250 damage and a CL70 does 500 over time it is the same. It is like having a second chance on a miss to do half damage. I get two turns per round to land a special instead of just one. The speeds are roughly equal. Playing the odds I take the two seemingly weaker pets over one stronger. If landing a special is 25% for each each round I really still have a 50% chance, maybe not true mathematically (not my strong point) but I take my chances. Two CL35 mobs on two CL40+ mobs means that I have a small chance for an abstract matchup. If both of my pets are fighting the same mob it plays out well so far. But if both of those mobs split and one each is attacking one each of my pets its perfect. You have to remember they still have 2/3's the HAM of the CL70. So they are going to last a while if both are getting hit until the first mob joes down. I am getting the benefit of spread out damage. Two tanks instead of one. If the AI gets the advantage of two on one at any point it becomes difficult for the soloist CH.
I do like your proposal. But it must be within the context that it is master only. Masters should be able to use the combinations. So while we agree on the overall proposalI do believe that setting it up is more important than anything. Right now the master box is useless, the tranfer command is bogus we have no real reason to transfer pets. In reality it would be just as easy for me to drop as many boxes as possible to call two CL25 pets and fight this way because no threeway combo is really possible. BE pets as uber as they are would still keep me in PvE without wasting valuable skill points. A decision I have been wrestling with for months now. There is no reason to be MCH at all. There is even less reason at times to be CH. Your proposal puts us back in balance with the other professions seeing that JustG and his rednamed cohorts duped us into believing there would be any rebalance. They have to put us back in line with the other professions and this idea is just the one that would do it.
Well you're talking BE'd pets, of course. I wasn't ![]()
As somebody who much prefers natural pets over BE'd ones, there's not a critter in the galaxy that's CL35 with 60% kinetic. If you can getlucky enough witha BE to have him/her *exactly* ace CL35, twice, consider yourself lucky.
If the devs pigeonhole us into using BE'd pets to be even marginally effective (which, in essence, is what they've done), I'll drop the profession so fast my head will spin
I'd rather not, but let's face it - the averge Joe CH, multiple pets just aren't worthwhile.
They should be, and you shouldn't have to pay a BE through the nose to get them. We *do* spend hours and hours TAMING, you know ![]()
Omegaplex consider yourself pigeonholed. Our pets will never be better than BE. If you wish to compete you have to use BE pets. And let me be quite honest I do a less healing with BE pets. This means over time I will save more money on Pet Stims.

Yeah, as you say there's a rather stark contrast between BE and tamed in the wild pets at most levels. A trio of tamed in the wild CL 35 pets would probably be great and not at all overpowered (in my opinion). A trio of Bio-Engineered CL 35 pets would probably be monstrous. Particularly since Bio-Engineered pets start having Light Armor in that neighborhood.
Excellent point.
The CL system should be(IMHO) a static measurement of combat power, but clearly it's not, because a natural CL 35 is weaker than a BE 35. 35 should be 35. But it's not. It's like if it's a BE beast, you get 10 or so "free" CL points.
There's something just not right with this.
