Thread: Path to ... well up anyway

I'm a 0/1/1/1 CH with most of what I need for that last 1. Now I'm so...I don't know what the word is...that I'm worried about what to do after. Get 2's in everything? Max one out? Dance naked in the streets?

So let's take a look.

Taming: If I pass another kreetle lair with three or more babies I'm going to scream.

Training: Extra slots would be nice but I'm allready familiar with tame/train/byebye, last time I did faction missions I found three babies going from one to the other. Only had two slots. My TEF died in the wilderness. However, guard would be lovely. I'm getting tired of spamming attack commands when I get to a mission waypoint.

Empathy: What does embolden do? Trick2 would be nice to incorporate in my entertainer routine. And of course Berserk has obvious applications.

Management: Follow other, Friend, and mount are all basically useless to me. I have a mount, and I solo a lot. However, that second pet would be useful.

Well that's my analysis. Tell me yours. What is the defining path of a Creature Handler?

The defining path USED to be grind like mad for Management III. It's still pretty good for keeping a pet out to cover your back while taming a baby, though, so don't dismiss it out of hand just because the XP bonus is gone.

Now, it all depends on your playing style. I'd go for the Training line, because I love to tame and collect. If you've got to tame those kreetles, then go for the Taming line. Those aggro babies are calling for you to tame them, too, even though they often have a funny way of showing it.

There is another factor, and thatis the SP you have to play with. If you're tight, you may want to maximize one line, then build up a bank of XP before you're forced to surrender another skill somewhere else to train a CH box. I know that I did this while mastering CM, in order to hold on to as much CH as I could so I could call my higher pets longer. Didn't last long on the rancor, the gurreck, or the gaping spider hunter, but I held on to my CRC, my gorge vesp, my huurton stalker, and my GSPs for as long as I could! Eventually I'd max out my bank of XP in CM and I'd be forced to surrender a CH skill to learn a CM skill, and then start earning med XP again for the grind. But each surrendered box reduced my CH ability, and you'll need to take your character's total skill set into account as you move up one ladder and surrender skills on any other trees.

Oh, and as an entertainer, you might well want to have a couple of of cute pets group with you and help you entertain! I understand that some dancers can get pets to synchronize their moves with them; probably works on musician flourishes as well! One of the often proposed new types of pets are entertainer pets that when grouped with an entertainer give an XP and healing bonus.

Proposed here maybe -- the coming entertainer droids are being shouted at as useless and distracting muisances we are better left without. I doubt entertaining pets would be much better recieved.

As for skillpoints, I have taken skills I plan to surrender but I'm working to Master CH. I'm thinking after I get 1's I'll go Tame, Train, Manage, Manage, then recompute from there.
