its the way to go now after the nerf.
If you can make it to cl 35 non aggro you can get good stuff. Got me a 35 gurreck with ar1 and 52% kinetic. me and my dx2 and him can go up against2 enraged rancors.

Andriko, first of all relax.
What did you expect? To be uber mch in 2 minutes?
What you should buy is a nice BE CL20ish dewback with high HAM, and 60% kinetic resists.... You can use it as a mount, it can take a lot of punishment and get you very nice XP.... I would probably use that pet as long as you can until whatever you are fighting start to kill it... Your goal is to get something that can take damage and hit 1 time... You dont need something that can kill what you are fighting.. The lower the CL the more XP you get...

P.S. to know what you can train, look in ctrl + s > my skill mods > Max Level Pet
That way you will be able to store 8-10 pets total and could have several of these made. To save on stims you can rotate them out as they get too beat up. A few can double as mounts to expand their utility.
Actually, a BE with luck can make you a pet that is as good as the GSP's used to be, but I am thinking that 3 pickets would make that expensive.
You can start to get ar1 and kinetic once you approach 30, but there are no super pets in the low 20's any more. They used to have the Kusak at level 16 that had armor, those days are over.
If you can not get your CH skill up into the 20's at least, it is not worth having. Of course you are thinking how do I get exp with no defense? you may have to group, or go to like Naboo and do Bolle Bol missions
I recommended on another thread to a bounty hunter that they need to purchase or contract a pet with a bioengineer and then have a master CH train it for them (keep in deed form because at that level you can't teach it much of anything). Buy a bunch of pet stims, buy a crate of pet food, and buy a crate of pet vitality stims, I can't stress that enough because as a bounty hunter your level 19 pet is going to take a horrendous beating every day.
Look for a BE pet that isn't aggro in the wild (gurrcats, bagersets, cu pa, gurnaset, etc.) but something with a fast frame (your best bet is probably going to be a gurreck or a gurrcat). This will help you avoid the ferocity level problems. Go for a pet with high kinetic and energy resists only and if you can sacrifice attack and damage on your pet, it's not going to be doing most of the damage anyway. Higher HAM and resists are far more important than attack speed and damage for you. I'd also recommend buying a mountable pet, that way you can use it as a vehicle to catch a bounty.
