I always hear that 2 cl35 pets are better than 1 cl70.

Now logically if cl35 pets fight a cl50 mob for example, wouldn't they miss alot because of their lower cl, while a cl70 pet would almost never miss because of it's higher cl?

I'm not yet high enough to either have 1 cl35 or even have 2 pets out at same time so I can't figure out myself and I'm really curious..

Any higher CH aroundwho could enlighten me please?

unlike many role playing games, armour rating and level do not determine chance to hit. armour rating effects damage, and "ranged defense" and "melee defense" effect chance to hit.

though the armour and resists go up as creature level goes up, the melee and ranged defense don't seem to go up nearly as much. yes, it's easier to hit a level 10 mob than a level 50 mob, but the difference isn't that great.

now, more to the point, even if your cl 35 pets missed all the time, they'd still be better for most people (anybody who is a combat class along with CH, or who is in a group), for a very simple reason - BE pets cap at 60% kinetic resist and light armour, and this can be obtained on a level 35 pet. so you can have two 10k ham level 35 pets with 60% kinetic resist and light armour, or you can have one 13k pet with 60% kinetic resist and light armour. you do the math.

at some point somebody is going to bring up wild pets, so I'll mention that... a level 50 wild pet is probably quite a bit better than two level 35 wild pets, since most likely your level 35 wild pets don't have light armour, and your level 50 can have light armour AND decent kinetic resists. above level 50 you start to get into the "rares" category of wild pets. which aren't really that good anyways, not from a 'tanking' point of view anyways.

so the bottom line is that in most cases the best tanking ability available comes from 2 level 35 BE pets.

for those of you reading this who love to repeatedly one-star me for stating the facts about BE pets, you can stuff it. I didn't make the system, I just live in it, and I don't understand why you think that me telling people about BE pets is harming you in some way. they are better, there is no argument. the fact that you WISH they WEREN'T is irrelevant.

(sorry for that tangent, but every time I post the words "bio engineered" in this forum I get fscking one-stared)
