Try this:
- call a pet and train "store", type in "abc a" for this command without the quotes
- train "transfer", type in "abc b" for this command without the quotes
- train "trick 2", type in "abc c" for this command without the quotes
- train "trick 1", type in abc d" for this command without the quotes
After the fourth command see if the pet's name changes to "abc" then examine the pet and see if the commands
you chose reflects what was typed for the command: abc a, abc b, abcc & abc d
If the pet's name changes and the commands reflect what was typed for them then you should be able to
name pets but you just need be careful not to use names that are not allowed by the name filter, have a number
in the name or some other invalid character(s).
I hope this helps.

How are you trying to name them?
The best way I have found to name a pet is to teach it at least 4 commands first so it knows those commands. The reason for this is because a lot of times you fail up to 4 times when first training a new pet a command. If you are trying to name it, I believe it is based on successfully training the command. So if you fail the training 4 times then you need to keep teaching the command 4 times with the name in front of it.
Then teach it those same 4 commands again but this time putting the name in front of the command. Once it is named then you can train the original commands back.
Usually when naming them I just do something like the following:
select store from training menu
/tellpet Fang a
select transfer from training menu
/tellpet Fang b
select trick1 from training menu
/tellpet Fang c
select trick2 from training menu
/tellpet Fang d
This will name the pet Fang. Then retrain those commands back to what you want them without the name in front of them.
select store from training menu
/tellpet store
select transfer from training menu
/tellpet transfer
select trick1 from training menu
/tellpet dance
select trick2 from training menu
/tellpet play
I apologize if you already know all this and are having a problem with it being bugged. I'm not trying to insult you. You didn't state whether you knew how to actually name the pets or not and I do this all the time so I know it works well for me. But if you are doing this and it isn't working then it is very possible you could be bugged.

thanks for both replies! That's more help than I've gotten from CS!
Both ways mentioned I haven't tried.....yet! LOL
I am able to train my pets....I don't have transfer skill yet though.....I'm 3,3,3,4
I think it's either the method with which I try to name the pet or the filter is getting me.....
But I have 2 new methods to try so that's good.....
From talking to my fellow guildies and them watching me try, I just get the feeling I'm bugged.
Drives me nuts! If I don't figure this out, I'm just gonna drop ch after I master it...(in like a year) or quit.....nawwww! LOL
Thanks again for all your help guys! I really appreciate it!

That can't name pets? I'm now 3,3,3,4 and STILL can't name any pets!
Is it because I'm a rodian? I've tried everything! My fellow guildies say I'm bugged.
I sent in a ticket about this problem like 2 months ago and no answer...
Any help would be appreciated......I like being ch....but this is the one thing that drives me nuts!
