Thread: Best wild pet above level 40 for PvE?

Hi,
The patch is overdue, servers down 
So, the trivia question is:
- Which tamable non-Bioengineered pet is the best one for PvE against high-end beasts, used alone, over level 40%, as a companion for a master CH / buffed armored master elite fighter (rifleman here)? Overall performance, resistance- and damage-wise?

IMO a Toxic Merek Battlelord would serve you very well here I think.

I have found Rancors to be good, intimidate special significantly increases their lifespan and Arachne Webmasters are good too, with light armor, moderate resists and strong poison they perform well. If you can get it a Mantigrue Screecher is good as well, low resists but plague strike and strong poison work well.

Stat wise probably the Toxic Merric Battlelord. The have nice all around resists. When fighting something with strong special resists or against mob's ofr critters the TMB is a solid performer due to strong resists.
But if you have a specials macro and are not fighting high end stuff (like ns elders or crayats etc) the standard Rancor is the way to go. Stun + intimidate is a massive boost to tanking power because it drasticly lowers the defenders attack power.
If course in the end a BE pet with the rancor specials is going to outperform either of these fellows, but not my a realy big margin.

against animals, delerious merrik avenger is best, better than any other pet in the game. Against things with blasters and stun batons, TMB is king.

I have to agree with the TMB, and if you pair it up with a GSP or a GW it's a classic that works PDG.

Here are the top 7 wild pets, ranked according to their effective kinetic HAM (factoring in armor and kinetic resist):
1. Arachne widow(41,333)
2. Bull rancor (37,846)
3. Screecher (36,308)
4. TMB (36,000)
5. GPS (34,769)
6. Rhoa kwi pack leader (33,846)
6. Arachne webmaster (33,846)
However, taking specials into consideration, I'd rank gurrecks (33,714) and rancors (32,286) above those. Intimidate is simply the best special in the game. Assuming that intimidate is a 50% damage reduction (it may be higher, I've seen conflicting reports)... if your gurreck can keep intimidate on its target throughout the fight (via a macro), then you're looking at an effective kinetic HAM of over 66,000.
I can't stress how much of an impact intimidate can have. I refuse to buy a BE pet that doesn't have it (unless I plan to pair it with a pet that has intimidate of course). For example, a BE pet with light armor, 12k HAM, 60% kinetic resist, and intimidate has an effective HAM of over 120,000!

Beats all but arachne widow for kinetic and you can actually find one of these pretty easily. My arguement still stands, DMA is still king for kenetic based opponents.
